As we enter the beautiful month of May, we are reminded of the many meaningful moments that call us reflection, service, and sisterhood. This season invites us to pause, reconnect, and recommit ourselves to the values that unite us as women of Alpha Kappa Alpha.
Mother’s Day offers us an opportunity to celebrate and honor the love, strength, and sacrifices of mothers and mother figures who have shaped our lives and communities. Whether through a kind word, a shared moment, or a lasting legacy, may we uplift and cherish them in special and intentional ways.
As we approach Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and selflessness remind us of the importance of gratitude, reflection, and continued service to others. Let us carry their legacy forward with reverence and purpose.
May is also Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to prioritize wellness, compassion, and support for one another. It is a reminder that caring for our mental health is just as important as caring for our physical wellbeing. Let us check in on one another, extend grace, and foster safe spaces where our Sorors feel seen, heard, and supported.
In that spirit, Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter will be leading the efforts for Southern California chapters in support of the NAMI Walk on May 16th. This is a powerful opportunity for us to come together in unity, raise awareness, and advocate for mental health resources in our communities.
We encourage all Sorors to stand with us as we promote mental health awareness and advocacy. Your participation whether walking, donating, or simply spreading the word—makes a meaningful and lasting impact.
