English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

One-Term Study Abroad/Gap Experience

ULethbridge offers a fourmonth immersive experience for individuals 18+ from outside Canada looking to improve their English skills while exploring Canadian culture.

• Improve listening, speaking, reading and writing skills

• Take part in cultural activities and excursions to explore Western Canada

• An optional homestay program is available through Canada Homestay Network

• You can study at the ULethbridge for less than six months without a study permit if you have a valid visitor status (visitor visa or eTA).

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program

Build the English skills you need to succeed at ULethbridge

• 12-week program

• Start in January, May or September

• 20 class hours per week

The EAP program is an intensive English program that helps you meet the English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements of ULethbridge and provides you with the skills necessary to succeed in an academic English environment.

• Develop English skills for university-level learning

• Free social activities throughout the term

• Successful completion of the Advanced level meets the ELP requirement for admission to most ULethbridge programs

Letter of completion

Students who complete the EAP program and continue their studies at ULethbridge may be eligible for a $500 award.

Custom Programs

We work with schools, education agents and group travel organizers to design custom programs. These programs are a great way to add an international learning experience to an existing program, or to bring a group together to explore in a Canadian university setting. Example custom programs include:
