Bolsover Council: Hilltop, Shirebrook
Bolsover Council is a member of the Efficiency East Midlands framework, a not-for-profit organisation which promotes and shares good procurement practice and collaborative working with its supply chain to increase the effectiveness of services to tenants. Like the majority of refurbishment and new build projects within Bolsover Council properties, Multipanel waterproof wall panels have been specified for the
bathroom fit-outs at Hilltop.“This is because the panels are very easy to install” says site manager, Paul Pygall, “Housing Managers like them because they are easy to clean and virtually maintenance free. Specifiers love them because they can choose from a wide range of colours and textures to suit different types of project.” The development forms part of its B@Home Programme where the Council is working in partnership with Robert Woodhead Limited, the Homes and Communities Agency and EEM Ltd. Properties in the development are designed to meet the Lifetime Homes standard, exceeding normal space standards for affordable housing. They also surpass minimum building regulations for energy efficiency and environmental impact.

Bolsover Council has recently completed work on the development of Hilltop, a 3.5 acres site in Shirebrook in north east Derbyshire. Hilltop comprises 37 properties ranging from one-bed flats to three-bedroom houses, to be let on secure tenancies at an affordable rent.
