CARL DE KEYZER Carl De Keyzer started his career as a freelance photographer in 1982, w hile supporting himself as a teacher at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium and later at the Higher Institute of Art in Antwerp, Belgium and at L’école des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France. His interest in photography led him to co-found as well as co-direct the Photography Gallery XYZ. He became a Magnum nominee in 1990 and a full Magnum member in 1994 and was appointed Vice-president of Magnum in 2003 and 2004. Carl De Keyzer received multiple awards including the Grand Prix de la Triennale de la Photography, The Eugene Smith Award and The Kodak Award.
