NSSE 2019 High-Impact Practices: student engagement and assessment insights to help UHD faculty and administrators measure program effectiveness.
This report summarizes NSSE 2019 findings on High-Impact Practices (HIPs) — experiential learning, service learning, undergraduate research, internships, capstones, and learning communities — with actionable assessment strategies for program improvement. Designed for UHD’s diverse, urban student population, it connects HIP participation to student outcomes and offers evidence-based recommendations for faculty, staff, and administrators to answer “How well are we doing?” and strengthen curriculum, co-curricular programs, and retention initiatives.
