The UC Native American Opportunity Plan provides full funding of systemwide tuition and fee costs to California residents who are part of a federally recognized Native American, American Indian, and/or Alaska Native tribe. Separately, Native American students who are not active members of a federally recognized tribe are eligible for the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Scholarship Fund.
Scholarships offered outside of UC San Diego or your chosen university are a great way to supplement the cost of attendance. Research scholarships offered in your community or nationally and apply for those for which you qualify.
Ensures California residents with a total family annual income less than $80,000 and who qualify for financial aid won’t pay
Stephanie (she/her)
I frequent the Intertribal Resource Center because it is a diverse space in which they provide all the resources I need to succeed. I am also a member of the UC San Diego chapter of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society. This society recognizes and promotes the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students, and being part of this prestigious group has been a significant milestone in my academic career. It has enhanced my UC San Diego experience by allowing me to build community with fellow transfer students.
This public acknowledgment serves to honor and respect Indigenous peoples and their land on which our campus resides. UC San Diego was built upon the territory of the Kumeyaay Nation. From time immemorial, the Kumeyaay people have been a part of this land. Today, the Kumeyaay people continue to maintain their political sovereignty and cultural traditions as vital members of the San Diego community.
