Sharon first came to UAB in 1971 to assume a posi on as Assistant Director of Clinical Services in the University of Alabama Hospitals Physical Therapy Department. At this me the Department employed only four other physical therapists. Sharon was later promoted to

director and was influen al in enhancing the Department’s infrastructure, se ng a path for the growth into its current status as a na onwide model for acute care PT services. During her me
