Method of the How is Finland doing? -study: survey data 2019, 2023 and 2025 Theresultsarebasedonpopulationsurveydatacollectedoverfourperiods(late2019, summer2023, summer2025 and late2025):
● AllrespondentsareworkingFinnsaged18–65, selectedrandomlyfromthepopulationregisterandthe Taloustutkimusinternetpanelandinvitedtoparticipate inthestudy.Wehaveexaminedpeoplewhoworkedduring eachsurvey.
● Researchdatafrom2019, 2023and2025 wascollectedfromdifferentrespondentgroups.Thesurveydataforsummer 2025 andlate2025 wascollectedfromthesamerespondentgroup,makingthatso-calledlongitudinal data,which combinesresponsesfromthesamerespondentsatdifferent times.
● Incaseswheretheexaminedphenomenon wasnotmeasuredinthe2019 survey,theanalyseshavebeencarriedout onthebasisofdatafrom2023 and2025.
● Theresultsofthestatisticalanalysesareweighted basedonage,genderandareaofresidenceinordertoensurethe representativenessoftheresults.

Apositiveemotionaland motivationalstate experiencedduring work,characterizedby vigour,dedicationand immersioninwork. Three-itemscale (Schaufelietal.2019).
Causedbyalackofstimulior challengeoftheworkortasks, andismanifestedasreduced motivation,difficulty concentratingandtime passingslowly.Threeitems (Reijsegeretal.2013).
Asyndromecausedbyprolonged workstress,characterizedby chronicfatigue,cognitiveand emotionalimprairmentand mentaldistancingfromwork,i.e., cynicism.Scalewith12itemswas used(Schaufelietal.2020).

● Thatiswhywecompared allstudiedassessmentsofworkandwell-beingatworkfromsummer2025(51factors)and backgroundinformation(8factors)intwogroupsofrespondents:thoseemployed, whoresponded1)onlyinsummer 2025 (n=1,676) and2)alsolate2025 (n=2,143)
● Wefoundonlyminordifferencesbetweentheserespondentgroupsin9ofthe59examinedfactors.
● Participationinthefollow-upsurveywasslightlymorelikely(p<0.05)amongthosewhoexperiencedslightlymorechronicwork fatigue,physicalworkload,andslightlypoorerworkability(theabilitytomeetthedemandsofinformationprocessingandthinking atwork)andbalancebetweenworkandotherlifeinthesummerof2025.
