WELCOME! Friends and Family, Everyone at TJC looks forward to seeing you at our Cultural Arts District! As we celebrate 100 years since the College’s founding, we reflect on our rich traditions inspired by the arts. This includes a wealth of talented performers and local partners throughout the past 10 decades. In this guide, you will find everything you need to know about our Centennial year of arts programming. The beautiful facilities located on TJC’s Central Campus are ready to welcome you for the 2026-2027 season. Outstanding musical, dance, and theatrical presentations will take place on the Amy and Vernon Faulconer Stage in the Rogers Palmer Performing Arts Center. A host of performances can also be enjoyed at the Jean Browne Theatre. Some of the highlights we look forward to include the popular “Dear Evan Hansen,” our 38th annual presentation of “The Nutcracker,” and a spring performance of “Oklahoma!” To complement this, there is even more packing into our Cultural Arts District. TJC’s Earth and Space Science Center offers ongoing programs that entertain and enlighten, and our School of Humanities, Communications, and Fine Arts hosts a month-long festival in April that is open to the public. Legacy groups such as our Apache Belles, choirs, bands and music ensembles delight in the chance to entertain visitors through their talent and skills. We are also fortunate that the Tyler Museum of Art calls the heart of campus home. TJC is incredibly honored to provide a long history of serving our communities through access to the arts and sciences. The beautiful experiences we share together on campus bring us closer — and fuel both hearts and minds. My wife, Meela, and I personally invite you to share in all that awaits at the TJC’s Cultural Arts District during this special year of celebration.

Written in the twilight of Shakespeare’s career, “The Tempest” is widely celebrated as his farewell to the stage. Experience the Bard’s mesmerizing tale of usurped power, sudden romance, and the ultimate test of forgiveness over vengeance.

Today’s going to be an amazing day and here’s why … When a letter that was never meant to be seen by anyone draws high school senior Evan Hansen into a family’s grief over the loss of their son, he is given the chance of a lifetime: to belong. A simple lie leads to complicated truths in this big-hearted coming-of-age story of grief, authenticity, and the struggle to belong in an age of instant connectivity and profound isolation. Presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.

In a Western territory just after the turn of the 20th century, a high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys provides a colorful background for Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm girl, to play out their love story. Their romantic journey sends us through a musical adventure embracing hope, determination, and the promise of a new land. Based on the play “Green Grow the Lilacs” by Lynn Riggs. Original Choreography by Agnes de Mille. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization.

Twins Evan and Ellen are dealing with an accident that brings together a group of friends and neighbors with an assortment of eccentricities. As the day progresses, secrets and lies are revealed. The question becomes: how far would you go for someone you love?

Step into a winter wonderland at the Snowflake Tea, an annual holiday tradition hosted by the internationally famous TJC Apache Belles. This elegant event invites guests of all ages to enjoy tea, sweet treats, and festive performances by the Apache Belles themselves.

The TJC Apache Belles present their 2026 Spring Show. The Apache Belles have been entertaining audiences from the football field to the performance stage since 1947 with their precision dance and head-turning production numbers.

500 million years ago life left this blue womb and colonized the land, but we are still intricately linked to the ocean. Our climates, coastlines, ecosystems, and economies are tied to the perpetual movement of water between continents. The great ocean currents are the arteries and veins of planet Earth! This is the story of one particularly fascinating flow – the East Australian Current, a massive oceanic river that stretches the length of Australia’s east coast.

Describing the universe, astronomers will tell of diverse planets, charming comets, hot stars, and ethereal nebulae, all billions of light-years away. Into this mix, they throw mysterious dark matter, a few black holes, a dash of dark energy, and a pinch of strange elementary particles. However, for ordinary Earthlings, this list of terms feels like perusing a cookbook without ever tasting the ingredients, let alone the finished dish. To prevent any blandness, we’ll serve you the universe with all your senses!

Experience all the great earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes of recent history. Learn about the power within the Earth, and how we should appreciate it. Why do all these events occur, and what can we do to be ready for them? Find out in “Our Violent Planet!”

This live-action fulldome program puts you on the deck of the voyaging canoe Hōkūle‘a as you explore traditional Polynesian navigation. Learn how to read the stars and interpret the winds and waves to navigate without modern instruments. The film tells the story of the Polynesian Voyaging Society and the recovery of the nearly lost art and science of traditional, non-instrument navigation in Hawaii.

STAR PARTY SATURDAYS Join the Earth and Space Science Center for monthly star parties. You’ll find plenty of telescopes for viewing and even more astronomy buffs to help you navigate your way around the night sky. Admission is free.

ARTS FESTIVAL APRIL 1-30

Throughout the month of April, TJC offers an annual Arts Festival packed with performances, exhibits, guest speakers, and more. These events take place at various times and locations across the TJC Central Campus and at the Tyler Museum of Art. Organized and led by the School of Humanities, Communications, and Fine Arts, the festival provides rich learning experiences for all ages. This event is a collaboration of: • Art • Communication Studies • Dance • Education • English • Humanities/Philosophy/Foreign Language • Music • Theatre Other participating areas include, the Honors Program, Visual Communication, and Student Life, among others. This celebration includes something for everyone and is a great way to enjoy all that TJC has to offer! All Arts Fest events are open to the public, but tickets are required for some performances.
