The Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario have reached a settlement worth $183.4 million with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation on the 230-yearold Rouge River Valley Tract claim. Government officials said that the settlement will not affect private property ownership and does not involve transferring land, but rather financial compensation for historic treaty issues.
