Iroquois/Haudenosaunee people gather in Niagara Falls, coming from both sides of the Canada-US border to honour the 1794 Jay treaty which acknowledges Indigenous peoples' right to cross the border freely. The people met in the middle and held a small ceremony before marching together across the border and then gathered at Oakes Park Niagara Falls to celebrate. The organizers usually alternate the celebration from one side top the other. "Congratulations Huntre Jamieson being named IDLA YUMA DEAN Ambassador and everyone who came out to dance and compete," said January Rogers of Ojistoh Publishing Productions and 2RO Media on social media.
