ARMORY SUPPORTS AWARD-WINNING INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT IN NASHVILLE

Industrial development across the Nashville region continues to accelerate, placing increased demands on logistics infrastructure, durability, and long-term performance. As part of a largescale, multi-building industrial complex on Centennial Boulevard in Nashville, Armory, LLC, T.W. Frierson’s in-house overhead door company, played a critical role in delivering reliable, highperformance dock and door systems tailored to modern warehouse operations.

Serving as the overhead door and dock equipment partner, Armory furnished and installed all dock doors, ramp doors, mechanical levelers with bumpers, dock seals, and protective accessories across the initial phase of the development Each component was selected and installed with efficiency, safety, and long-term durability in mind, key considerations for Class A industrial facilities designed to support high-volume distribution and logistics users

The industrial park’s first phase delivered more than 566,000 square feet of Class A warehouse space, with future phases planned to bring the full development to approximately 1 8 million square feet across a 123-acre site near John C Tune Airport and the Cumberland River T W Frierson served as the general contractor and self-performed extensive sitework and utilities for the project, overcoming significant environmental and logistical challenges associated with the site’s former industrial use

This project recently received an Excellence in Construction Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors Greater Tennessee Chapter, recognizing the quality, coordination, and execution delivered by the full project team. Armory’s scope was a key contributor to that success, supporting safe, efficient building operations from day one.

As industrial developers and end users continue to prioritize speed-to-market and long-term facility performance, Armory’s integrated approach offers a seamless solution for complex industrial environments.

ACROSS THE THREE COMPLETED BUILDINGS, ARMORY INSTALLED:

33 Raynor overhead doors per building (99 total), each equipped with track guards for added protection and longevity

59 Poweramp mechanical dock levelers, complete with bumpers and dock seals, ensuring smooth transitions, energy efficiency, and consistent operational performance at the loading dock

architecture into the broader design-build process Working closely with preconstruction, operations, and field teams, Craig approaches design as a tool for problem-solving, anticipating constructability challenges, aligning scope with budget early, and ensuring design intent supports schedule, safety, and quality goals.

That mindset naturally led Craig into a broader leadership role across the organization. Drawing on his project experience and passion for continuous improvement, Craig now serves as the architecture team’s representative for TW Frierson’s Quality Program, helping shape and uphold best practices that guide our projects from preconstruction through design, construction, and closeout In this role, he ensures architectural excellence is not just a goal, but a repeatable, measurable outcome, embedded into how we work as one integrated

team

Craig’s influence extends beyond individual projects His leadership helps reinforce a shared standard of excellence across DCi and TW Frierson Contractor, Inc , strengthening alignment between design and construction and elevating the experience for our clients, partners, and employee-owners alike

As DCi continues to support increasingly complex industrial and manufacturing clients, Craig’s steady leadership, collaborative approach, and commitment to quality remain a vital part of how we deliver projects that perform on paper, in the field, and for years to come.

Those who know him praise his reputation for honesty and his determination to always do the best job possible His reputation boosts his campaign to improve the recognition and pay levels of industry employees

“The mainstream perception today is that an educated person is one who has a college degree on his wall – and a guy who works his hands is second class. We have working with us in the construction industry PhD’s in the disciplines of carpentry, concrete, steel, site work, masonry, millwork, roofing, and sheet metal, painting, interior finishes, pipe fitters, plumbing and electrical work. Years of lasting beauty are put into place by the hands of our creative & artistic field staffs.”
