Pastor swept away by floodwaters IT HAS been a shocking and tragic start to 2025, following the death of much-loved Queensland Seventh Day Adventist Pastor William
Strickland. Pastor Strickland lost his life after floodwaters rose suddenly during a creek crossing at Hidden Creek, according to
witnesses. The waters swept a HiLux, driven by the pastor, into the creek and about 400 metres downstream. Tributes are f lowing for
the kind man affectionately known as ‘Pastor Willie’. Read more, including a statement from the family on page 12.
