THE ONGOING saga over allegations of “preference deals” with members of the Northern Regional Planning Panel (NRPP) made by Councillor Kimberly Hone during the council’s July meeting, has
taken another turn this week, with Mayor Chris Cherry publicly correcting a statement she made during a June 2025 council meeting which was shared by Cr Hone this week. The dispute stems from com-
ments made by Cr Hone during Tweed Shire Council’s July 16 meeting, in which Cr Hone made allegations of “preference deals” with members of the NRPP.
