Breaking It Down with The Rundown (MIS)Treated podcast has launched! Giving Tuesday is around the corner

Hello friends,
I know that the news cycle can sometimes feel negative and overwhelming. With our new show, The Rundown, we’re continuing to be a trusted media source to help analyze these big, often heavy issues and make sense of the moment. We’re all seeing how world events impact our communities, policies and conversations right here in Ontario. The Rundown is an opportunity to stay true to our long-form journalism and our regional scope while giving viewers the rundown on what is going on around them.
You’ve enabled us to create this new show and now we want you to get involved! As part of our donor community, your support means everything to us. And, after serving as a co-host on The Agenda since 2017, I’m proud, and eager, to work on something that continues in the tradition of developing high-quality, thoughtprovoking content at TVO that you have come to expect. It is with your support, and feedback, that we make it happen.
Through panel discussions, field interviews and engaging video content, The Rundown will take serious topics and make them accessible to Ontarians – topics like the emergence of A.I., immigration, and the housing affordability crisis. Making these
issues accessible is something that I feel is a duty for trusted journalists in a landscape of growing misinformation.
I’m someone who is constantly learning, and I’d love for you to join us with a learner’s mindset. I’m genuinely looking forward to The Rundown and hope you tune in – and give us your feedback! The production team and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,

Jeyan Jeganathan Host and Co-Producer, The Rundown

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re taking a look at some of what your support helped us accomplish this year. We always say that we couldn’t do this without you and that’s because it’s true! Your support helps our dedicated teams create more ways to reach Ontarians and share stories that matter to communities across the province.
Fan favourites included TRIPPING The Muskoka Lakes, a scenic journey through Ontario’s cottage country, and All Too Clear, which explores how invasive mussels are making the Great Lakes clearer but less vibrant. Polly Can Do helped children embrace differences and build friendships with those who need a little extra care. Meanwhile, Crossroads: Beyond Boom & Bust, now in its third season, continued to highlight how Ontario communities are adapting to change.
Because of our generous donors, TVO celebrated a win for Best Kids-Only Streaming Service at the 2025 Kidscreen Award Summit and was honoured with an impressive total of 13 awards recognizing excellence in journalism, children’s programming and digital media! In October, The Oath podcast received a Silver Signal Award in the True Crime category, and our cover art design earned Bronze for Best Show Artwork.
Your support allowed us to spotlight highly sensitive issues such as child exploitation, online luring, and AI deepfakes—helping protect Ontarians as they navigate digital spaces. Through investigative journalism, TVO Today podcasts like The Oath and Arachnid revealed difficult truths about health and safety, both online and in medical settings.
TVO Today Live events featured Steve Paikin alongside notable guests, including Canadian musician, visual artist, and author Tom Wilson, and political commentator and author Thomas L. Friedman. These events reached audiences across the province, with 1,000 Ontarians attending in person and hundreds of thousands tuning in via broadcast and digital platforms.
Most recently, the (MIS)Treated podcast, new series The Premier Files, and new current affairs show, The Rundown, have all made their way from our drawing boards to your living rooms. We hope you tune in and give us feedback on these new projects as we’re always looking at exploring different ideas and perspectives.
Thank you for allowing us to keep all of Ontario engaged and informed. We had a busy but impactful 2025 and we don’t plan on slowing down next year. With your support, we can continue to be a trusted source of information in 2026. We are excited to see what we can accomplish together!

With your support, the TVO Docs team has many more amazing TVO Originals in the worksstay turned!”
