TupsleyVoice Beautiful Butterflys Appear St. Paul’s Church was all a-f lutter for Easter. After two years of lockdown and restrictions and not getting together, we decided that we should all join together to do something for fun. Butterf lies seemed most appropriate as a symbol of resurrection. The word soon got around and many people became very creative. Knitting needles started clicking , fabric took on familiar shapes , paintbrushes and crayons were soon busy creating beautiful patterns. The result was a fantastic display of peoples’ talents, with many gasps of oohs and ahs on Easter morning when people saw the church decorated with almost 500 butterflies. The wedding of Laura Hudson and Joseph Myatt which took place a few days later in May, was enhanced by the display which included 150 butterflies that were done by children from Wigmore school, where Laura works with the children. All the butterflies and a few caterpillars remained up until just before Ascension Day. Many thanks to all who participated. It was wonderful to see the smiles that they brought to peoples’ faces. Also many thanks to Martyn Duggan who took the photos printed.
