TupsleyVoice THE GREAT FLOOD OF FEBRUARY 2020

The Great Floods of February 2020 will live long in the memory of countless people throughout the country, especially those whose homes and businesses were f looded. Very many communities across the country from the valleys of South Wales to the Calder Valley, York and the Dales all in Yorkshire, and countless villages between, were severely f looded when Storm Dennis brought a massive rainfall to Britain during the weekend of 15/16 February. This followed intense rainfall the previous weekend which resulted in the ground being totally saturated and unable to absorb any of the Storm Dennis rainfall. The massive

This is perhaps the solution for all future buildings on flood plains, even if already protected by flood defences that are designed to prevent historic 1 in 100 year floods.
