Tulsa Regional Tourism’s Annual Report The Hottest Stars, Stories and Wins in Tourism FISCAL YEAR 25/26 July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026

1

“

Dear Tourism Partners, What a year this has been, and what a ride this has been. I think it is safe to say that the last fiscal year was a period of unprecedented success in Tulsa history. From the thrill of the TODAY Show, the magic of The Outsiders, to the magnitude of Capital Cruise, Tulsa took big swings all year long and knocked it out of the park. We celebrated the Centennial of Route 66 bigger than anywhere else in the country here in the Capital of Route 66® and set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ mark in the process. The Wall Street Journal called us a “culture capital.” Sterlin Harjo’s “love letter to Tulsa,” The Lowdown, debuted to critical acclaim and was renewed for a second season. I have served two terms as chair of the Tulsa Regional Tourism Board of Directors and was co-chair of the 2019-2023 tourism private investment campaign. That campaign—aptly titled MOMENTUM—kickstarted the never-before-seen run of notoriety the city is enjoying now, and as I move out of my second term as board chair, there is a chance in front of us for a similarly transformative commitment to tourism. Tulsa’s current MOMENTUM has never been higher, and now it is time to not only sustain that momentum but capitalize on it and accelerate it into the future through another strategic, intentional investment in the city’s tourism ecosystem. There are opportunities on the horizon to fund tourism efforts in Tulsa, both in telling Tulsa’s story around the world and maintaining the world-class assets we already have that make our city a premier destination across the globe. Tourism is the THIRD largest industry in the state of Oklahoma and an unmatched driver of economic development and prosperity in Tulsa. Help secure the win for tourism. Because when tourism wins, Tulsa wins. And when Tulsa wins, we all win. Thank you for your partnership, your support, your advocacy and your collaboration.

Stay gold.

TULSA AWARENESS GROUP Every quarter, Tulsa Regional Tourism hosts a Tulsa Awareness Group (TAG) Meet-Up, where local businesses and organizations learn about upcoming large-scale events in Tulsa, how to get involved, be prepared, and maximize the opportunity with additional visitors in town. Hosted at different venues citywide, meet-ups begin with a time to network, get assistance with their PartnerNet accounts, and participate in the Tulsa Area Attractions meeting. Following that, the Tulsa Regional Tourism team presents upcoming event resumes and data to properly equip organizations for the influx of visitors, and often, prominent local figures will speak as well. In between the quarterly meet-ups, the TAG Monthly Snapshot highlights 10 of the upcoming 500+ attendee events over the coming 60 days, enhancing community awareness and preparedness.

Tulsa Office of

Film, Music, Arts & Culture FILM & TV PRODUCTIONS FILM HIGHLIGHTS FY26 marked a significant year for film production and industry growth in Tulsa. In February, Tulsa FMAC launched the Tulsa Film Incentive Program, a strategic initiative designed to attract new productions, support local spending, and increase workforce opportunities within the region. Since its launch, the program received five applications, with three projects awarded funding, resulting in $215,306 allocated to support production activity in Tulsa. Beyond the incentive program, Tulsa FMAC continued to serve as a central resource for filmmakers and production companies. During FY26, the office provided assistance to 57 film and media projects, with 43 productions filming in the Tulsa area. Notable projects included The Lowdown Season 2, Tulsa King (2nd Unit), The Today Show, and nine independent feature films, demonstrating Tulsa’s growing appeal as a destination for both nationally recognized productions and independent filmmakers. These achievements reflect Tulsa FMAC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the local film ecosystem, expanding economic impact, and positioning Tulsa as a premier production hub in the region.

MUSIC & ART ACTIVATIONS MUSIC HIGHLIGHTS Tulsa music had a remarkable year with showcase events, expanded artist development opportunities, and national leadership in music industry collaboration. A cornerstone achievement was the celebration of Tulsa Music Month, which kicked off with the AllAmerican Rejects House Party. The concert attracted around a thousand attendees and generated excitement across Tulsa and the region. Proceeds from the event supported the Tulsa on Tour program, which helps Tulsa musicians get on the road to tour where they can connect with new audiences and industry professionals. Throughout Tulsa Music Month, FMAC coordinated citywide music activations, including the signature event “Swim Meet”, a Music Resource Fair, and a Live Recording Event of local artist performances. Supporting Tulsa artists beyond city limits remained a key priority. In September 2025, FMAC led a delegation of Tulsa musicians to AmericanaFest, one of the nation’s premier roots music conferences, where artists participated in official showcases, networking opportunities, and industry development activities. FMAC further expanded these efforts in February 2026 by bringing Tulsa musicians to Folk Alliance International, providing additional showcase opportunities and exposure to industry leaders from across the country. These initiatives continue to build national awareness of Tulsa’s music community while creating tangible career advancement opportunities for local artists. On a national level, FMAC demonstrated leadership through its role as a founding member and board participant in the Association of Music Offices (AMO). After more than two years of development, collaboration, and organizational planning, the association officially launched to serve music offices across the United States. AMO’s mission is “to connect music offices nationwide by supporting music communities through industry collaboration and shared best practices.” Through this work, FMAC has helped establish a national framework for music-focused municipal leadership, enabling cities to share successful policies, programs, research, and strategies that strengthen local music ecosystems.

MUSIC & ART ACTIVATIONS ART HIGHLIGHTS Throughout FY26, Tulsa FMAC advanced its mission of supporting arts and cultural development across the city. Through partnerships with artists, arts organizations, community stakeholders, and civic leaders, FMAC continued to champion public engagement in the arts while expanding access to creative experiences for residents and visitors alike. Along with Create Tulsa, Tulsa FMAC is hosting a quarterly Creative Community Mixers that bring citywide creatives together to get to know one another. Attendence for this event increases at each time. In advance of the national tour of The Outsiders, Tulsa Regional Tourism and Tulsa FMAC partnered with the production team to bring members of the touring cast to Tulsa for an immersive community experience. During their visit, cast members explored the city, met with local residents, and visited locations that reflect the spirit and culture of Tulsa that inspired S.E. Hinton’s iconic novel. The experience gave performers a deeper understanding of the community, history, and sense of place behind their characters, helping to create a more authentic connection to the story they bring to audiences across the country. The partnership continued when The Outsiders National Tour officially launched in Tulsa in October 2025, marking a significant milestone for both the production and the city. As the birthplace of the story, Tulsa served as a fitting location for the tour’s debut, bringing national attention to the city’s literary and cultural legacy while celebrating the community that inspired one of America’s most enduring coming-of-age stories.

Along with an appearance from Mayor Monroe Nichols, Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan led a segment focused on Tulsa small businesses C. Fazel Designs, Oklahoma Toffee Company, Agitsi Stained Glass, Topeca Coffee Roasters and Greenwood Ave. A live cooking segment featured demonstrations from 2025 James Beard winner Cat Cox of Country Bird Bakery and Pastis Hospitality executive chef Trevor Tack.
