ABOUT TULSA FMAC The Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts, and Culture (Tulsa FMAC) is an accredited city film commission through the Association of Film Commissioners International, and a city music office. The mission of our office is to develop and connect resources to further grow and enhance northeast Oklahoma’s creative industries, including film, music and the arts, all while promoting Tulsa as a creative hub and cultural destination. Our focus is to highlight Tulsa’s creative industries to the world, so they continue to grow and flourish. Tulsa’s creative community supports one another, creates together, and shares ideas and resources. It is a place to incubate ideas before hatching them at South by Southwest or Sundance Film Festival. Tulsa FMAC administers Play Tulsa Music, the Tulsa County Film Recovery Program, The Film Tulsa Fund, and the Tulsa Creativity Database. Tulsa FMAC is housed under Tulsa Regional Tourism at the Tulsa Regional Chamber.

Less than an hour away you’ll find a town whose oil-rich heritage, art deco history and cowboy culture combine to create an interesting vibe. The arts and festivals abound. See the only skyscraper designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the heart of downtown. Hidden away in the rugged Osage Hills of Northeastern Oklahoma, Woolaroc was established in 1925 as the ranch retreat of oilman Frank Phillips. The 3,700-acre ranch features a wildlife preserve and a museum.
Discover the capital of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation! Okmulgee offers plentiful outdoor recreational activities at Okmulgee Park, Dripping Springs Park, and the nearby Lake Eufaula (Oklahoma’s largest lake). CLAREMORE Enter Claremore the historical way via Route 66, the Mother Road. Known for its many museums, Claremore is home to the Will Rogers Memorial Museum, the J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum, and Rogers State University.
MUSKOGEE A destination for history, art, nature, shopping and entertainment. Native American history lives at the Ataloa Lodge & Museum. The U.S.S. Batfish, a retired naval submarine, is an always popular attraction, as are the stunning azaleas in Honor Heights Park each April during the Azalea Festival.
SAND SPRINGS
Just over an hour drive from Tulsa is Pawhuska, home of The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond. Known for her hit TV show on Food Network and numerous best-selling cook books, Drummond resides on a sprawling ranch in the Osage County hills and has set up shop in the heart of town with the creation of The Mercantile. Affectionately known as “The Merc,” the restaurant and store offers delicious meals (try the mac & cheese), vintage gifts, and décor for the entire home. A little outside of town and down the road from the Drummond Ranch is the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. The largest tract of tallgrass prairie left in the world, the site is owned, protected, and managed by the Nature Conservancy. You won’t want to miss the scenery and celebrity that is Pawhuska.

TAHLEQUAH A little over an hour southeast of Tulsa is one of the most historically significant cities west of the Mississippi. Home to the Cherokee Nation and cultural centers, numerous festivals, and outdoor recreation on both the Illinois River and the clear waters of Tenkiller Lake.
