Chiara Miller A recent Fort Gibson High School graduate, 2020 Tulsa Sings! winner Chiara Miller performed with the FTG Tiger Theatre for over 7 years. She is a former member of the Tulsa Theatre Young Artist Program and has attended the Kristin Chenoweth Broadway Bootcamp for two consecutive years. Chiara is a 2019 Discovery Award finalist – a regional awards program showcasing and awarding excellence in Eastern Oklahoma high school musicals – and a 2020 nominee for Best Female Performer. A current freshman at Northeastern State University, Chiara is an accomplished singer and dancer and plans to continue her performing arts education. Signature Symphony at TCC launched Tulsa Sings!, a vocal talent competition to shine the spotlight on Tulsa’s undiscovered talent in 2017 as part of a year-long season exploring Tulsa’s music connections and highlighting talented Tulsans. Each year the Tulsa Sings! competition provides the opportunity for finalists to work with and learn from experienced vocalists, and have the opportunity to perform on the TCC VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education stage with Signature Symphony’s professional musicians.

He helped develop the vocal competition, and is instrumental in selecting and mentoring the finalists through the vocal competition. Signature Symphony’s Principal Harpist, Lorelei Kaiser Barton, demonstrates many sound effects available on the instrument with the audience take away, “I didn’t know the harp could do that!” Audience members will acquire a better understanding of how the harp contributes to the orchestral performance. Additionally, Ms. Barton will discuss the evolution of the harp since the mid 18th century. Ms. Barton’s demonstrations will include her favorite seasonal and harp standards.

Signature Symphony Principal Violist Jeff Smith takes you on a fun and entertaining exploration of the neat and not so neat relationships that exist between music and math. Learn about rhythms and counting, frequency, amplitude, time, wavelength, tuning systems, recording technology, and a host of other cool things! Experience the unique and unexpected ways that mathematics and music intertwine. Join us for an enjoyable audio and visual journey into the science of math and art of music. No math skills needed!
