DE Wieso liegt Ihnen das Thema Nachhaltigkeit am Herzen?

Nachhaltigkeit bedeutet für uns Verantwortung – für die Umwelt, unsere Gäste und kommende Generationen. Wir schätzen das Miteinander sehr und es prägt unser Handeln als Gastgeber: Wir denken voraus, bauen bedacht und treffen Entscheidungen, die unsere Heimat langfristig stärken.

Was ist dabei die größte Herausforderung?

Im Alltag konsequent Entscheidungen zu treffen, die langfristig sinnvoll sind – sei es beim Bau, bei den Ressourcen oder im täglichen Betrieb. Es braucht Geduld, Überzeugung und Mut, um neue, wirkungsvolle Wege zu gehen.

Was wünschen Sie sich für die Zukunft?

Dass nachhaltiges Handeln selbstverständlich und Qualität wichtiger wird als schneller Konsum. Der achtsame Umgang mit Ressourcen ist kein Verzicht, sondern Wertschätzung für das, was wir haben. Wir möchten auch unseren Gästen zeigen, wie Nachhaltigkeit durch bewusstes Wirtschaften, regionale Produkte und klare Standards funktioniert.

Per noi la sostenibilità significa responsabilità – verso l’ambiente, i nostri ospiti e le generazioni future. Apprezziamo profondamente il senso di comunità, che guida il nostro modo di essere albergatori: pensiamo al futuro, costruiamo

con consapevolezza e prendiamo decisioni che rafforzano a lungo termine il nostro territorio.

Qual è la sfida più grande?

Prendere ogni giorno decisioni coerenti e lungimiranti – nella costruzione, nell’uso delle risorse e nella gestione quotidiana. Servono pazienza, convinzione e coraggio per intraprendere nuove strade efficaci.

Cosa vi augurate per il futuro?

Che agire in modo sostenibile diventi la normalità e che la qualità conti più del consumo veloce. Un uso consapevole delle risorse non è una rinuncia, ma un segno di rispetto per ciò che abbiamo. Vogliamo mostrare ai nostri ospiti come la sostenibilità funzioni attraverso una gestione responsabile, prodotti regionali e standard chiari.

EN Why is sustainability so important to you?

For us, sustainability means responsibility – towards the environment, our guests, and future generations. We deeply value community, and it shapes how we act as hosts: we think ahead, build consciously, and make decisions that strengthen our homeland in the long term.

What is the biggest challenge?

Making consistent, forward-looking decisions in everyday operations – whether in construction, resource management, or daily business. It takes patience, conviction, and courage to pursue new and truly effective paths.

What do you wish for the future?

That sustainable action becomes the norm and that quality becomes more important than fast consumption. A mindful use of resources is not about sacrifice, but about appreciation for what we have. We want to show our guests how sustainability works through conscious management, regional products, and clear standards.

The Three Pillars of Sustainability

DE Im Vigilerhof stützen wir uns auf die drei wissenschaftlich anerkannten Säulen der Nachhaltigkeit: Umwelt, Wirtschaftlichkeit und soziale Verantwortung. Nur wenn diese drei Dimensionen im Gleichgewicht stehen, können wir wirklich nachhaltig handeln. Denn: Ohne natürliche Ressourcen kann keine Wirtschaft bestehen, jedoch benötigen wir auch finanzielle Sicherheit sowie soziale Gerechtigkeit für eine hohe Lebensqualität und eine stabile Gesellschaft; nur so können wir uns wiederum um die Umwelt kümmern. Für unser Bestreben, diese drei Säulen auch in unserem Haus in Einklang zu bringen, wurden wir mit zwei Zertifizierungen ausgezeichnet: mit der GSTC-Zertifizierung sowie dem Südtiroler Umweltzeichen Level 3.

Wie können wir die Umwelt schützen und Ressourcen verantwortungsvoll nutzen, um negative Auswirkungen auf unseren Planeten und das Klima zu reduzieren? Im Vigilerhof haben wir darauf viele kleine Antworten gefunden: Ressourcen gezielt einsetzten, Abfall reduzieren und lokale Zutaten bevorzugen sind nur einige der Maßnahmen die wir im Alltag ohne Ausnahmen integriert haben.

Economic Sustainability

Nachhaltigkeit bedeutet auch, dass wir langfristig für wirtschaftliche Stabilität in unserem Hotel sorgen. Dabei achten wir darauf, dass wir uns sozial und umweltbewusst verhalten. So gehen wir erfolgreiche Partnerschaften mit lokalen Handwerkern ein und investieren in langlebige und energieeffiziente Infrastruktur. Unsere Preise kalkulieren wir fair und mit Fokus auf Qualität statt Quantität.

Social Sustainability

Der soziale Aspekt beim Thema Nachhaltigkeit umfasst viele Bereiche, wie beispielsweise gerechte Bedingungen für Menschen im Allgemeinen sowie innerhalb eines Unternehmens

zu schaffen. Das nehmen auch wir uns im Vigilerhof zu Herzen. Auf diese Weise sorgen wir dafür, dass unsere Mitarbeitenden langfristig – und vor allem glücklich – bei uns bleiben.

IT Al Vigilerhof ci basiamo sui tre pilastri scientificamente riconosciuti della sostenibilità: ambiente, economia e responsabilità sociale. Solo mantenendo l’equilibrio tra queste tre dimensioni possiamo agire in modo veramente sostenibile. Senza risorse naturali non può esistere alcuna economia; allo stesso tempo sono necessarie sicurezza finanziaria e giustizia sociale per garantire qualità della vita e stabilità. Solo così possiamo prenderci cura dell’ambiente. Per il nostro impegno nell’armonizzare questi tre pilastri abbiamo ottenuto due certificazioni: la Certificazione GSTC e il Marchio Ambientale Alto Adige Livello 3.

Al Vigilerhof abbiamo trovato molte piccole risposte: utilizzo mirato delle risorse, riduzione dei rifiuti e preferenza per ingredienti locali sono solo alcune delle misure integrate quotidianamente.

Economic Sustainability

Sostenibilità significa anche garantire stabilità economica a lungo termine per il nostro hotel, agendo in modo sociale e rispettoso dell’ambiente. Collaboriamo con artigiani locali e investiamo in infrastrutture durevoli ed efficienti dal punto di vista energetico. I nostri prezzi sono calcolati in modo equo, puntando sulla qualità piuttosto che sulla quantità.

UNESCO World Heritage

DE Seit 2009 zählen die Dolomiten und somit auch der Naturpark Schlern-Rosengarten aufgrund ihrer landschaftlichen Schönheit sowie ihrer geomorphologischen und geologischen Bedeutung zum Welterbe der UNESCO. Eine Auszeichnung, die gleichzeitig eine Verpflichtung hinsichtlich nachhaltiger Entwicklung ist. Und nicht nur das: Als Teil des europaweiten Netzwerks Natura 2000 soll der älteste Naturpark Südtirols mit seiner Artenvielfalt und den natürlichen Lebensräumen besonders geschützt werden. Die Basis dafür bilden die europäische Fauna-Flora-Habitat-Richtlinie sowie die EU-Vogelschutzrichtlinie. Durch den Naturpark führen der Geologensteig und der Naturerlebnisweg Oswald von Wolkenstein, die den Besuchern die Besonderheiten der Umgebung an verschiedenen Stationen näherbringen.

IT Dal 2009 le Dolomiti, e con esse il parco naturale Sciliar-Catinaccio, sono diventate patrimonio UNESCO per la loro straordinaria bellezza paesaggistica e l’importanza geologica e geomorfologica. Tale riconoscimento implica anche un impegno concreto verso uno sviluppo sostenibile. Ma non è tutto: facendo parte della rete europea Natura 2000, il più antico parco naturale dell’Alto Adige beneficia di misure specifiche per la protezione della sua biodiversità e dei suoi ecosistemi. La tutela si basa sulla Direttiva europea Habitat e sulla Direttiva per la conservazione degli uccelli selvatici. All’interno del parco, il Sentiero Geologico e il Sentiero Oswald von Wolkenstein guidano i visitatori alla scoperta delle caratteristiche uniche del territorio attraverso più tappe didattiche.

EN Since 2009, the Dolomites – including the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park – have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage list due to their exceptional scenic beauty and their geomorphological and geological significance. This recognition also represents a commitment to sustainable development. Furthermore, as part of the Europe-wide Natura 2000 network, South Tyrol’s oldest nature park is granted special protection to preserve its biodiversity and natural habitats. The legal basis for this protection is the EU Habitats Directive and the EU Birds Directive. The Geologist’s Trail and the Oswald von Wolkenstein Nature Trail run through the park, guiding visitors through various stations that explain the unique characteristics of the surrounding landscape.

DE Was auf den Berg hochgetragen wird, wird auch wieder runtergetragen. Abfälle stellen Gefahrenquellen für Tiere dar und brauchen hunderte Jahre, um zu verwesen, und manches verrottet nie vollständig. Das beste Wasser stammt übrigens direkt aus dem Wasserhahn. Einfach Flasche auffüllen und los geht’s – zu Fuß, per Bike oder Öffis, denn die Seiser Alm ist eine verkehrsberuhigte Zone.

IT Ciò che si porta in montagna va riportato a valle. I rifiuti rappresentano un pericolo per gli animali e impiegano secoli a degradarsi – alcuni, addirittura, non si decompongono mai del tutto. L’acqua migliore, invece, sgorga direttamente dal rubinetto! Basta riempire la borraccia e via… a piedi, in bici o con i trasporti pubblici: l’Alpe di Siusi, infatti, è una zona a traffico limitato.

DE In Südtirol gelten 27 % der einheimischen Pflanzenarten als gefährdet, weshalb viele wild wachsende Pflanzen und Blumen unter gesetzlichen Schutz gestellt wurden. Ein Ort, an dem die Flora besonders gut gedeihen kann, ist der Naturpark Schlern-Rosengarten in der Dolomitenregion Seiser Alm. Hier ist das Zuhause von rund 790 Blüten- und Farnpflanzenarten. Mit der App „Pl@ntNet“ können Sie diese ganz einfach und schnell bestimmen: Fotografieren Sie die Pflanze mit dem Handy. Das Foto wird von einer Erkennungssoftware mit bestehenden Bildern abgeglichen. Anschließend erhalten Sie eine kleine Auswahl mit passenden Pflanzenarten. Eine Bitte: Bewundern Sie die kostbaren Pflanzen dort, wo sie wachsen, und lassen Sie sie in ihrem natürlichen Umfeld weitergedeihen.
