From here, follow well-marked trail no. 2, which climbs steadily alongside Scaleres stream and through atmospheric forests of Swiss stone pine and Norway spruce. On reaching a clearing, the Great Schrüttensee Lake (1957 m) comes into view, surrounded by an unspoilt landscape that invites you to pause and enjoy the silence of the mountains.
