Job prospects good for future leaders
A well-attended Welcome and Information Expo at the Townsville’s Murray Stadium building last Saturday was organised through the Defence Members and Families Service.
More than 100 exhibitors including local community and sporting groups, Government organisations and other service providers had stalls there.
At the Uni Saints rugby league stand were youngsters Lauren Lenoy, 12, Taya Zaro, 13, Emma Waigana, 12, Zeedon Zaro, Keanu Hewitt-Watson, both 14 were there to consider their post-school career options.

“I would like to be an artist,” Emma said.
Taya said she would like to become a chef or a doctor, whilst Zeedon expressed an interest in a job to do with sport administration.
Lauren said she was not sure but had enjoyed the expo. Keanu said he would like to be an NRL player.
A banner had been made and will be displayed proudly when marching at ANZAC Parade in April 2023.

Dee Paul was one of three ladies on the One Tree Defence Childcare stall. “We have had a lot of people stop at the stall and make enquiries,” Dee said.
At the Defence Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Network (DATSIN) were Ashton Courtney with her children Luther Cassady, aged 7, and Lucius Cassady, 5.
“We have had a lot of interest today,” Ashton said.
