Ronald Flores

Ronald was nominated by 12th-grade Principal Mr. Rasile because of the Work Ethic Ronald has shown in satisfying his requirements for graduation in the first quarter of the school year.

Grade: SENIOR Harding High School

Ronald is a member of the Madrigals performance chorale, favorite subject is Math and his favorite teacher is History of Rock & Roll teacher Mr. Ensley. Following graduation Ronald would like to go to college to pursue some discipline of engineering.

Jovana Pirivatric Jovana was nominated by Guidance Counselors Jodi Austin-Brown and Alexis Vogler for her Work Ethic and holding No Excuses for in the pursuit of her goals.

Grade: JUNIOR Harding High School

Jovana stays busy outside of school working as a host at Quaker Steak & Lube. Job responsibilities have not slowed her involvement in extra-curricular activities, including Student Council, National Honor Society, and Acapella choir. Academically, Jovana is taking College Credit Plus coursework at WGH through Eastern Gateway Community College as well as Advanced Placement coursework. Her favorite class this year is AP Literature with Mr. Melillo and cites The Metamorphosis as her preferred reading thus far. The best thing about WGH is the close community of teachers and students, all the class offerings, and the extra-curricular opportunities. She is appreciative of her School Counselor Alexis Vogler for always being available and giving good advice matters inside and outside of school.

Nathan James Nathan was nominated by 10th grade principal Ms. Seimetz for the outstanding grades he was able to maintain while participating in two fall sports – cross country and soccer. This is a demonstration of his Responsibility and Accountability as he had perfect attendance throughout the first quarter of the year.

Grade: SOPHOMORE Harding High School

Ka’Niya Cayson Hill Ka’Niya was nominated by 9th grade principal for her Work Ethic in maintaining a high academic record for the first quarter taking Honors and AP coursework, while being in the marching band. Ka’Niya’s perfect attendance is also a testament to the Accountability she has to her educational responsibilities.

Grade: FRESHMAN Harding High School

The new people and that her teachers are helpful is what Ka’Niya likes most about WGH. When it comes to teachers, her 4th grade teacher, Ms. Moyer at Lincoln PK-8, is her favorite. Ka’Niya’s favorite subject is math and she is proud of the 4.14 first quarter GPA she earned while taking advanced coursework. Making the WGH Majorette Line as a freshman is an accomplishment she attributes to her being involved in dance since the age of three. After high school, Ka’Niya is considering a career in dance choreography.

Samuel Scott

Samuel has been recognized by Mr. Guthrie for being a model student who has displayed positivity and politeness. Mr. Guthrie applauds Samuel’s efforts to exemplify all areas of the WARREN Acronym this year.

Ms. Notar also spoke of Samuel’s emergence as a leader within his class and the school this year.

Grade: 8 Lincoln PK-8

the best part of Lincoln Samuel feels that

are being with his friends and not having to experience the bullying he previously had to at other schools. His favorite subject is math, and his favorite teacher is Mr. Kelly as he is nice and funny. Outside of school Samuel enjoys hanging with friends and eating salami sandwiches. After high school Samuel would like to join the Air Force like his dad.

Violet Martin 3-5 principal Ms. Peterson describes Violet as “an amazing role model who not only demonstrates every aspect of the WARREN Acronym, but is also full of Lincoln PRIDE and positivity every day. She is a responsible, caring student with excellent work ethic and a contagious attitude.”

Grade: 3 Lincoln PK-8

Violet loves her school because she is able to learn new things, the teachers are kind to each other, and they compliment everyone. Favorite Teacher: “I like everyone, but if I had to pick someone it would be Ms. Grayham. She doesn’t yell, is sweet to everyone and teaches everyone. Favorite subjects: Science and math. Violet really likes that she is learning to multiply and divide this year. Favorite book: A Diary of a Wimpy Kid Outside of school: Violet likes to help mom with her baby brother and help the family cook. Violet shared that she would like to be a pre-school teacher when she grows up so she can teach kids new things.

Landon Davis

Ms. Bozin nominated Landon for his great Work Ethic. She said, “He loves to participate in lessons, is focused, works hard on any task he is given and is prepared to learn every school day.”

Grade: KINDERGARTEN Lincoln PK-8

What does Landon like

most about school?

Learning how to spell and playing with friends. Landon also stressed the importance of paying attention, keeping hands to oneself, and being good. Favorite Book: The LEGO book about digging. Landon shared that he learned there is a tractor that can pick up three elephants at the same time. At home Landon like to play with his little brother and watch Paw Patrol. His favorite food is Mac & Cheese and when he grows up he wants to sell cars just like his dad.

AMEERA COLEMAN

Nominating teachers Ms. Ruane and Ms. Tabor describe Ameera as being: "A high academic achiever, always doing what is expected, making great choices in the classroom and concerned for the well beingand safety of her peers.”

Grade: 8 McGuffey PK-8 Socializing with friends

and the nice and helpful teachers are what Ameera likes most about McGuffey.

She has participated in Science Club and is looking forward to working with the Yearbook, going to football games, and socializing with other students when she attends WGH next year. After high school, Ameera plans to go to college and is considering a career in education. Outside of school Ameera enjoys painting and reading. Her last painting was a sunset and favorite book is Let Me Hear a Rhyme. JUSTIN DE LA CRUZ-YUNGA Justin loves his new surroundings at McGuffey PK-8. He likes the nice, big building. He likes how the teachers treat the students, and commented on how nice the staff is especially school counselor Ms. Redmond. When not in school he likes to

play outside.

exemplifies the R for “I would say that Justin Responsibility in the Warren acronym. He works hard each day to follow the school rules and to complete his work. He has taken it upon himself, even as a student new to the district, to set an example for others with his behavior. He will often check in with students who are struggling with behavior or academics to see how he can help them. The day we got a new student, Justin asked to go see Mrs. Zagorec (his principal) to ask if the new student could be assigned to sit next to him at lunch. His sense of responsibility truly helps make our classroom a better place!” -- Ms. Pacurar, nominating teacher

My’Auni Ogletree My’Auni was nominated by her teacher Ms. Streeter due to her demonstration of Effective Behavior in being a great helper to the class, and due to her Work Ethic by always completing her assignments.

Grade: 2 McGuffey PK-8

What My’Auni likes most about school is spending time with friends and getting learn new things.Reading and math are her favorite subjects. When not in school, My’Auni enjoys to play with her nephew and spend time with family. Her favorite food is salad and chicken. My’Auni also likes it when her mom reads to her about the "Adventures of Pete the Cat" – which is her favorite book.

Tileah JohnsonGoodrich According to Jefferson PK-8 teacher Rebeca Gabrick, “Tileah is the definition of the W.A.R.R.E.N. acronym. She greets you with a big smile and demonstrates respect to every individual she encounters throughout her day. On a daily basis, she puts forth 100% effort into every assignment or task assigned to her in all of her classes. She encourages classmates to put forth their best work always and praises them for their successes both in and out of the classroom. She is always willing to help a peer who is in need.”

Jefferson are teachers What Tileah likes most about – like Mr. Sandy, Mr. Seidel, and Ms. Mesaros - who she describes as having patience with students, are supportive by giving students opportunities to complete work, and acknowledges the students’ success. Tileah enjoys the challenge of her math class and has participated in peer mediation and the county-wide STEAM program. She also plays the trombone in the school band and is looking forward being in the WGH Raider Marching Band when goes to high school. Favorite Book: House Arrest

Madison Johnson Away from school, Madison likes to play with friends, eat chicken tenders and fries, and loves it when she can go shopping at Five Below with her mom.

When she grows up, Madison would like to help others by starting a small business to help homeless people. She also wants to make safety keychains to help children not get kidnapped.

Grade: 4 Jefferson PK-8

Madison is new to Jefferson this year and really likes that they have the Geography Bee and librarian Ms. Kittles who is the best because she brings all of her favorite books right up to the classroom. She enjoys reading and writing and her favorite teacher is Ms. Givens. Principal Ms. Marshall nominated Madison because her kindness and care for others is wonderful, and she exemplifies a student with Accountability and Respect.

Joseph May Joseph thinks Jefferson is a good school, because “teachers help you” and he can spend time with friends. Mr. Bitner is his favorite teacher “because he is always nice to me.” Art is his favorite subject “because you get to drawn and paint stuff.” Favorite Book: Yetti Files Favorite Food: Spaghetti and meatballs.

Grade: 2 Jefferson PK-8

Teacher Ms. Laprocina nominated Joseph for his Work Ethic. She shared, “He is always attentive to the teacher, kind to his classmates, and never gives up when learning something new.His work is always completed to the best of his ability and he is proud of what he has accomplished.”

Darius Hull Jr. Math and Social Studies are Darius’s favorite subjects and he likes Willard teachers Ms. Opperman, Ms. Miller, and Ms. Hall for being funny, able to put a smile on everybody’s face and helping him to feel a part of the school community.

Away from school Darius enjoys reading mystery books and books about police investigations. Darius enjoys watching The First 48 and Marvel movies while at home. He is a boxer who trains several times a week and is looking forward to his first match. Darius also hopes to play football for the school when he is old enough to do so.

Darius plans to be an engineer.

Willard 6-8 Principal Ms. Raptis has this to say about Darius, “Darius is the epitome of all parts of the WARREN acronym! Darius is a role model of positive behavior. His work ethic, accountability and responsibility for his own learning, respect towards staff and students, effective behavior as a student and big brother to E'Shai, and having no excuses has made Darius a success at Willard! Darius embodies true leadership qualities. I am excited to see the great things Darius will accomplish now and in his future!”

Sa’nya Sellers Sa’nya is being recognized for the Effective Behavior she has shown to maintain a focus on her studies. Choosing the right strategies to stay on task and complete daily assignments have been the key to her success.

Grade: 5 Willard PK-8

Sa’nya is enjoying the opportunity to make new friends in her first year at Willard. Spelling is her favorite subject with Mr. Pitzulo, Ms. Smith, and Ms. Galbraith being her favorite teachers. She really appreciates Ms. Galbraith for always being there for her.

Outside of school, Sa’nya love to play with her baby brother, dance, and sleep. Her favorite food is Chick Fil-A waffle fries. Sa’nya would like to grow up to be a dancer.

Kayla Novak When asked what she like most about school Kayla said the popcorn snack bowls and her Unicorn Book.

Gabrelcik for her Work Ethic and fast growth so early on in the school year. Kayla is adored by her teachers Ms. Shuttic and Ms. Pittman who look forward to working with Kayla every day. Kayla’s bright, bubbly personality is loved by staff and students at Willard PK-8.
