GET IN GIRLS, WERE GOING GET IN GIRLS, WERE GOING HOME! HOME!

“The Troy Panhellenic community is truly one of a kind. The best word to describe it is family. All six chapters across the hill share a close-knit bond that genuinely reflects what Pan love is all about. Joining Greek life has easily been one of the best decisions I’ve made since coming to Troy University. It has challenged me to grow personally, academically, and socially in ways I never expected. The leadership opportunities I’ve been fortunate to hold through Greek life have brought me so much joy and valuable experience I am endlessly grateful for the Troy Panhellenic community and excited for everything the future holds.”
Morgan McMillan, Panhellenic President

At Troy University, our sororities are committed to academic excellence. Members are supported through academic mentors, tutoring, time management workshops, proctored study halls, and access to free campus resources. In the fall of 2025, the all sorority GPA was a 3 31 and the all undergraduate women's GPA was a 3.14.
One of the most valuable aspects of our Panhellenic community is the wide range of leadership opportunities available to our members. Each chapter prioritizes leadership development and encourages involvement not only within the chapter, but across campus and throughout the Troy community, empowering members to grow as confident, capable leaders.

Everyone needs a cheerleader, a support system, and someone to help guide them along the way. As you transition from home to college, finding a circle that encourages you to grow into your best self is essential. Sorority life provides that foundation, offering genuine friendships, meaningful support, and lifelong bonds that extend far beyond college years. We call that sisterhood.
Sorority members serve the Troy community in endless ways. Greeks are the first to ring the bells for the Salvation Army each year. You can find our women in the nursing homes, local schools, food banks and churches. We also are the first to respond when there has been a natural disaster. Additionally, we serve our national philanthropies by raising money.
“We, as undergraduate members of women's fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities. We, as fraternity women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendships of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life The opportunity for wide and human contact, through mutual respect and helpfulness is the tenet by which we strive to live.”

Philanthropy is at the heart of Panhellenic life, both as a community and within our individual sororities. Each sorority is dedicated to a national and/or local charity, contributing both time and resources through service and fundraising efforts to promote human welfare and make a meaningful impact.
Panhellenic by the Numbers
$152,191.55
Amount raised by Panhellenic in 2025
70+ Community service hours reported in 2025
Our philanthropy activities vary each year, but we are always looking for new ways to serve the Troy community. During recruitment week, Panhellenic hosts a service event where members of each chapter donate children’s books and PNMs contribute canned goods for local organizations. We also host a lunch for international students, giving PNMs the opportunity to help out and connect with new students. Recently, we partnered with Short the Squirrel to deliver books to local businesses around Troy, helping promote literacy and community engagement.

Troy University celebrates two campus traditions each year: Homecoming Week in the fall and Greek Week in the spring. During Homecoming Week, students participate in a variety of events including competitions, a parade, and the football game. Greek Week brings together members of Greek life to compete in events, take part in Greek Sing, and build connections across organizations. Both weeks also emphasize giving back to the community through service events such as Can Castle, Quarter Wars, and various donation drives. This past year, funds raised during Homecoming Week supported Common Ground Troy, while Greek Week benefited O’s Cool Bike Foundation.

The Panhellenic Council at Troy University is a student-led organization, with current students comprising our executive council team. These students are selected by their chapters in November and serve a full term from January-December. Each Panhellenic Executive Team member is a sorority member at Troy University in a good standing with their chapter. During Formal Recruitment, you will meet these student leaders at our orientation and on sorority hill during recruitment. The Panhellenic Executive members are happy to help or answer questions you might have about Formal Recruitment, Continuous Open Bidding, or general Panhellenic information.

Head Pi Chi
A Pi Chi is a recruitment counselor who will assist you throughout the recruitment week. They will be there to remind you of events throughout the week, assist with questions, and guide you through the process. These are Greek women who are carefully selected and trained to guide PNMs and answer any questions related to Panhellenic Recruitment. These women are fully disaffiliated from their own chapters. You will be placed in a group with other PNMs and have 2-3 Pi Chis. This is a great opportunity to meet other girls and build friendships when just getting to Troy University!

The online registration form is best used in Chrome and Firefox. If you have any problems registering, reach out to slamar213312@troy.edu. We are here to help you!
High School graduates must have a 2 2 overall average (on a 4.0 scale) & be accepted to Troy University.
Upperclassmen at Troy University must have a 2.2 overall average.
Transfer students must have a 2.2 overall average based on 12 hours; if a transfer student has fewer than 12 hours, her eligibility will be based on her high school grade point average.
This eligibility policy for recruitment is designed to help new students become academically oriented at Troy University, before becoming involved in the sorority aspect of campus life. The Panhellenic Council's membership recruitment eligibility policy is a minimum requirement. Each sorority sets their own academic standards for joining The sorority women will carefully evaluate the grades and high school activities of each individual going through recruitment when making membership decisions.

If you are scheduled to live in a residence hall this year, you will be living in your assigned residence hall room during recruitment. Residence hall check in for those participating in sorority recruitment will be:
8 AM - 5 PM
When you arrive, check in will take place at your assigned residence hall. The resident assistant staff will be in the lobby area of each dorm to help check you in. Once you check in, you will receive your key and be able to move into your residence hall room. Housing will expect you to check in on Saturday, August 1st or Sunday, August 2nd if you are living on campus. Please note that the first two days of sorority recruitment are divided up into two days. On Monday, August 3 and Tuesday, August 4, PNMs will be divided by Pi Chi groups one group will attend recruitment parties, while the other will go downtown with their Pi Chi group. On Sunday, August 3, we will notify you whether you will be going through recruitment on August 3rd or 4th.

If you will not be living in university housing this fall, you must make your own arrangements for housing off campus during membership recruitment week. Often, apartment complexes will not let them move in early. If that is your case, we recommend staying at a hotel or with a friend.

Sorority members have the opportunity to live in sorority houses. You might wonder as a new member if you will get to move into a sorority house. Typically, in fall semester less than 19 new members move into the houses. It will depend on if the sorority you join has an open space. If you live in a residence hall and your sorority has an open space, you can move on over to the sorority house. Typically sorority members do not move into the chapter facility until their sophomore, junior, or senior years. Upperclassmen may have an obligation to live in the chapter house; however, each chapter regulates membership living in the house. The cost of rent for the houses is comparable to the cost of living in Shackelford or Cowart Hall.
If you join a sorority, you will quickly find out that they are involved in all parts of campus life. You will find your sorority will be involved in attending many campus events together. For instance if there is a pep rally - everyone will go! Your first year will be full of new and exciting events introducing you to collegiate life. Below are some things you can expect during your first year of membership in a Panhellenic chapter at Troy University.
As a new member, you’ll be expected to attend weekly new member meetings along with regular chapter meetings. These sessions are designed to help you learn the organization’s values, traditions, and rituals.
Some chapters require a certain number of study hall hours to be completed during the week Sororities also implement a number of educational programs to assist new members in the academic transition into college.

New members may receive a “big sister” who serves as a mentor, offering guidance and support throughout their time at Troy University.

Each Greek chapter is dedicated to supporting its local and national philanthropies, hosting events each semester to raise awareness and funds for these causes.
As a new member, you’ll be encouraged to participate in campus and Greek-wide events such as Welcome Week, Homecoming, pep rallies, swaps, campus speakers, plays, choral events, and Honors Convocation. These events are not only fun, but also provide great opportunities to meet and connect with students from across campus.

Trojan Dining offers a special "meal ticket" for the women going through recruitment. You can purchase 6 meals for $65.07 (this includes tax) for recruitment week at:
https://shop-troydining.sodexomyway.com
Tickets are available for purchase July 1-31, 2026. The last day to purchase is July 31st at 12:00 PM. The meal ticket begins on Sunday, August 2 and will last until Friday, August 7. The Dining Hall will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during recruitment week, and you may eat there if you choose. If purchasing a ticket, please use your own name and not your parents so we can identify it. Most days, you’ll also have one off-campus meal with your recruitment group, typically carpooling to those places. These meals vary in cost and will be paid individually
Please note the range difference is because the one time fee includes the membership pin/badge. Each sorority has a variety of pin/badges, varying in cost that you can select from.
Average
$700 $700
First time New Member fees. Range from $600-900
Semester Dues. Range from $575 to $900
Financial requirements are an important consideration for students participating in sorority recruitment, so it is important to be as informed as possible with the costs associated with the sorority experience. If you accept an invitation to join a chapter, you will enter into a financial agreement for membership dues and fees during your collegiate years. Dues and fees vary from chapter to chapter and year to year. It is important to note sorority costs may be more expensive during your first year in the organization due to one-time fees and expenses. It is also important to note that additional costs may arise during the year for items such as pictures, T-shirts, or other miscellaneous items.

SISTERHOOD DAY 1
BID DAY! PREFERANCE ROUND SISTERHOOD DAY 2
We will have sorority recruitment check-in on Sunday, August 2 in the Trojan Center Theater from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. You will check in and receive your name tag and T-shirt for Philanthropy Day. We will have a large group orientation meeting in the Trojan Center Theater from 4:30 p.m to 5:30 p.m. After the large group meeting, you will break into small groups and meet with your Pi Chi's.
Dress for orientation is casual, so T-shirts and shorts are perfect. We know many of you will be moving into residence halls or apartments on Saturday, August 1. On Sunday, August 2, our Pi Chis will be attending churches in the area, and if you will be in town and would like to join them and other potential new members, we will send out a schedule via email on Friday, July 31. You will meet your Pi Chis at the Trojan Center first floor food court lobby and travel to church together from there.
What Should I Bring?
There's no need to bring your own bag! You will be given a clear bag to carry your things. Some things you might want to consider bringing are: Lip gloss, deodorant, mints - anything you may need to freshen up between parties.
A handheld mini fan; August in Alabama is very hot, so you may consider having one of these
Potentially an umbrella and rain jacket depending on the weather each day Water will be available for you at each house.
Parties are 30 minutes each Your Pi Chi will lead you this day Your Pi Chi group will go to parties either Monday or Tuesday, not both!
Round 1 of formal recruitment is Philanthropy Day. Service and giving to others are the themes for the day. All potential new members will visit all six sororities over this two-day round. You will be welcomed at the door with a song as you enter the chapter's house and a sister will greet you at the door. You will be given a clear bag to carry your belongings. Cell phone will be kept in bags with your Pi Chi. On the day your Pi Chi group does not have parties, you will go as a group to visit Downtown Troy!
On August 2, at orientation, you will receive the Panhellenic t-shirt you will wear on this day We suggest you wear casual shorts, skirt or tennis skirt with tennis shoes, flip flops, or sandals. It will be very hot and you will be doing a lot of walking so we want you to be comfortable.

The sororities may have you participate in a craft project. You might watch a video about their philanthropy. This is a get-to-knowyou round, you will meet lots of people. Be ready to tell about your involvement during high school.

Sisterhood and Values Day is a great opportunity to see how each sorority lives out its values throughout the year and learn more about their sisterhood experiences. As you visit, pay attention to how members connect and support one another. You’ll have the chance to attend up to four different sororities during the day. Please note that your Pi Chi may let you know if you did not receive invitations to attend this round.
Parties are 45 minutes each PNMs may visit a maximum of 4 sororities
Remember that August in Alabama is very hot while selecting what to wear during recruitment. Dress for Sisterhood and Values day can be a casual cute dress, or a skirt and top, paired with sandals wedges, or flats. Always make your selection on what to wear based on most comfortable.

Think to yourself: What are you looking for in a sisterhood? Does this sisterhood look like it can help me achieve what I want to accomplish at Troy University?
You will have more one-on-one time with the sorority women learning about their personalities and sisterhood Conversation in this round is longer and more meaningful.

Preference events are the most formal and meaningful part of recruitment week. During this time, sorority members will share more about their sisterhood and the bonds they’ve built. By Preference Day, you’ll likely be thinking more seriously about which sorority feels like the best fit for you, and you’ll take part in a special ceremony. You may be scheduled to attend up to two events that day. Please note that your Pi Chi may also inform you if you did not receive invitations to Preference Day
Parties are 50 minutes each PNMs may visit a maximum of 2 sororities
Dress for Preference Day is more formal than the other rounds of recruitment. A church dress, pantsuit, or jumpsuit similar to something you might wear to a wedding paired with wedges or flats is a great choice for this day.

At the end of the day, focus on what you really want to gain from joining a sorority Make sure you feel comfortable and connected and take the time to see where you picture yourself as a member.
This is the most serious day of recruitment. The atmosphere is very serene between the members and can be emotional. There may be a special ceremony in the parties.

The last event of membership recruitment is Bid Day. You may receive an invitation to join, or your Pi Chi will tell you that you did not receive a bid. If you did not receive a bid, you are eligible for continuous open bidding.
Most chapters host a Bid Day gathering after the run home, often at an advisor’s house. You’ll likely ride with a sister to the location after Bid Day to continue celebrating.
August 8th FAST FACTS
Start running home at 10:00 a.m. Bid Day will begin at Elm Street Gym
This is a very exciting and long day! Make sure to get a good night's rest, as some chapters have a retreat planned immediately after Bid Day. Remember to stay hydrated.

Wear a TROY T-shirt with shorts and comfortable shoes. You will receive a Sorority T-shirt with your new sorority letters once you reach your new sorority to wear for the day.

We understand that for some, this process may feel unfamiliar and a little intimidating, but it’s not as overwhelming as it might seem. We just want to give you a few pointers for this week to help it not feel so overwhelming.
Recruitment week can be totally exhausting, but it’s important to take care of yourself. Set a firm bedtime and make sure you do not miss any meals. Fueling your body for the day ahead will give you the most energy without crashing later.
This week may be full of twists and turns and a bundle of emotions. Know who you are and what values you stand for. At the end of the day, this process and its outcome do not define you or your self-worth.
One of the most important things you learn in college is how to manage your time. You want to make sure you are not late to anything during this week. Make sure you have everything you need for each day ready to go the night before.

“When I chose Troy University, I hoped to find more than just a campus. I wanted a place where I could grow, feel supported, and build lifelong connections. Through Troy Panhellenic, I have found a community of women who inspire me to be my best every day! Being part of this experience has given me friendships, leadership opportunities, and memories that will stay with me forever! My time at Troy University has made my college expereince truly unforgettable!”

A letter of recommendation, also known as a REC or RIF, is a recruitment information form written by an alumna in order to introduce a potential new member to the sorority chapter. These letters are completed by alumnae using official forms provided by their sorority’s national organization. These letters highlight your character, academic achievements, and extracurricular involvement. While helpful, recommendation letters are optional and not required to participate in primary recruitment.
We want you to have normal contact with our sorority women over the summer. If you are not previously friends with a sorority woman, our women are allowed to follow you and like your posts, but they can't comment on your posts or DM you on social media. If you already have a friendship with one of our sorority women, you can and should continue those friendships. The sororities will not follow you back or interact with your account at all. We encourage you to DM Panhellenic if you have any questions. These considerations are in place so PNMs have positive contact and do not prejudge sororities based on social media.
