Tristotrojka
Tristotrojka is an award-winning, student-led magazine for architecture, design and art. It serves as an international platform for communication and collaboration of students and architects across the ex-Yu region. For more than a decade, Tristotrojka has organized lectures, discussions, exhibitions and other public events, always aiming to improve the dialogue between professionals and to include students in those discussions. Tristotrojka has always been free of charge – printed in 1000 copies and distributed for free, created entirely through voluntary work, collective effort and enthusiasm of our editorial teams in Sarajevo, Zagreb, Novi Sad and Belgrade. For years our magazine was freely accessible on the Issuu platform – until Issuu decided that our free work should start paying their bills. They now demand a subscription just so we could upload and share a free magazine that we produce without any compensation. In other words: they want to charge us for giving away our work for free. And it gets worse. They didn’t just block us from publishing new issues – they sabotaged our archive. When readers try to access our old magazines, Issuu displays the message: “Publication access is currently limited. Limitation will be handled by the publisher...” This is a lie. We have never restricted access to our publications. On the contrary – we invest our own time, labor and resources to keep them open to everyone. It is absurd that in 2025, the internet has become a techno-feudal society where corporations feel entitled to extort money even for free work. Our response is simple: we are leaving Issuu and moving to a free alternatives: https://www.yumpu.com/user/tristotrojka and https://fliphtml5.com/bookcase/asesw Wherever we publish next, one thing will remain unchanged – Tristotrojka will always be free.
