Arts & Mindfulness @ The Hive Project Trinity friend, Emily Olson, has launched some group classes in partnership with The Hive Project. Emily
led us in 2 seasonal prayer offering this year; Draw Me Nearer during Lent and Moving Inward this past summer. If you've had the opportunity to join one or both of those opportunities, or would like to give these offerings a try, you can sign up for her classes HERE! Midweek Noonday Prayer Join us on Wednesdays at 12:00 noon on Zoom for a short Noonday Prayer service. For the season of Advent, we will be praying with a noonday order of service from the Saint Helena Breviary and using The Message Bible for our gospel readings. Everything that you need to participate is found in the order of service on our website. If you cannot join us, we hope that you find this page a useful resource for taking a moment during the day to center yourself in prayer. Then, beginning on Wednesday, December 8th, we will add a second, in-person Midweek Prayer service, to include Eucharist, at noon in the sanctuary. All are welcome and wanted.

Cultivating Sacred Space at Home This Advent season join us for the first four Wednesdays in December from 7-8pm on zoom, where we will explore the history and importance of cultivating sacred space within our own homes. We will spend two sessions building our altars together - gathering items from our home and sharing how these unique items help us create a sacred space where our roots can grow even more deeply in the sustaining soil of our faith. In our last session together, we will join in a prayer service commemorating what is known as the Longest Night, as we pray and meditate together with our home altars. We hope you can join us!

Trinity Book Club The Trinity Book Club has decided to take a brief hiatus for the holidays. We will gather next on Sunday, January 30th to discuss The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. Book Club leaders Kyle Grefe and Becky Koskinen are working with Lisa to fill out and firm up plans to do a multiweek series in 2022 on women friendship in the Bible and as soon as we have a plan we will follow up.

DIOCESE OF OHIO BrownBag Concert at Trinity Cathedral Music & Art at Trinity Cathedral will host a BrownBag concert on December 8 featuring the Cathedral choir and harpist Jody Guinn for "A Ceremony of Carols." All concerts in the series take place every other Wednesday through December at 12:00 p.m. and are free of charge. This season, the concerts are offered as an in-person event as well as being livestreamed on Facebook and the Trinity Cathedral website. More details on the programs are available online.

Trinity Book Club We are currently reading The Red Tent by Anita Diamant! On 2 Sundays in a row- Jan 30 and Feb 6 we will be gathering in a number of different homes to share a simple meal and then watch the movie The Red Tent. It is a 2-hour movie so we thought we’d gather at 6:00 at each home, share a meal and then watch an hour of the movie over the course of the 2 Sundays.

A 2021 Pledge Drive Message Dear Trinity Family, The 2021 Annual Pledge Drive has come to a close and the BIG love of Trinity is ever apparent. Your generosity and thoughtful contributions are so very appreciated and will support the work we will do together in 2022. The ever-present challenges that 2021 brought are not without notice. In some way, all of us have been touched by loss this year, whether personal, professional, spiritual, and/or financial, making it even more apparent how fragile and precious our time and resources are. The extraordinary year demands an extraordinary response. The Trinity community has shown resolve on the way we speak to our mission. It is appropriate and righteous to give back in the way we have! The truth is we must be this way. We must give back to God that which was given to us! So, once again, thank you for supporting Trinity. As we journey together in the coming year, may we be reminded of the sanctity of our loving, inclusive, and radically welcoming community, our home, and our family at Trinity Episcopal. Next To New Ministry Update An important message to the Trinity communityI write to you today as the Manager of our resale shop, Next To New. Over the last 6 months, Lisa, the faithful NTN volunteers, the vestry and I have spent time in conversation about the next right step to take as this ministry continues to change and evolve. After significant discernment together, we have made the decision to refocus the ministry by entering into a season of transformation. The pandemic greatly reshaped the local community we serve and now realize the most faithful response we can take is to re-evaluate the focus and mission of our ministry to best meet the needs of downtown and greater Toledo. A confluence of factors has led us to this point including: The greatest need in the community is a ministry to provide clothing for women, men and children during times of transition. The current footprint of NTN at Trinity has outgrown a viable configuration to maintain with inventory exceeding our capacity to manage. The current number of volunteers does not match our ability to staff a "store" with consistent operating hours. As of January 2022 NTN will no longer have a dedicated paid staff to oversee the ministry. Moving forward we will take the next 6 months to gather more information exploring our vision to re-open a new free community closet. This ministry will relocate in the building to a space more accessible, safe and effective, while also freeing up the current footprint of disproportionate space that could be used to serve our community in other ways. A deep bow of gratitude to the souls that have touched this ministry over the decades. Volunteers, donations, and spreading the good news that is Next To New has been so important to the incredible work this ministry has done in the community. Without the helping hands, warm smiles, and loving compassion, this ministry would not have had such an immense impact on our neighborhood. Thank you for all you have done to birth, nurture, support and sustain this ministry- it has truly been a labor of love. Stay tuned for further updates and invitations to be involved in this exciting transition over the next six months. At times like these we lean into the promise that with every door that closes another surely is getting ready to be flung open. Lynzi Miller
