DIOCESE OF OHIO Bishops of African Descent issued open letter against racism and antiAsian violence Episcopal Bishops of African Descent has issued an open letter for Holy Week speaking out against racism and anti-Asian violence. Episcopal Bishops of African Descent is a caucus within The Episcopal Church’s House of Bishops attentive to issues of race and justice and the voice of people of color in the church. It has grown to become a multiracial group comprising members who are Black, Native Indigenous and of Asian descent. In addition to advocacy for full inclusion of people of color in the church, Episcopal Bishops of African Descent provides fellowship and mutual support to one another in the House of Bishops.

In the liminal time between the cross and the empty tomb, the Church tells the stories of God’s saving activity, celebrates new life in baptism, and announces the empty tomb. hate groups, and the American white supremacist movement. Prior to joining BGSU as a faculty member in 2009, Brooks taught at a number of regional colleges and universities, including Wayne State University, Lourdes University, and the University of Toledo. His first book was The Ku Klux Klan in Wood County, Ohio and his next book, A History of Hate in Ohio: Then and Now will arrive in July 2021. Dr. Brooks is Associate Professor of Teaching at Bowling Green State University and also serves as editor of the journal Northwest Ohio History. Each year we plant thousands of seeds that grow into the veggies we all love to eat and we need your help to get them started. Sign up to volunteer for a 1.5 hour planting slot. Seeding dates are Saturday, April 10 and Saturday, April 17. Only 1 slot is required for an individual, household, or pod.

Building Faith Brick by Brick Intergenerational Class Every Sunday – April 11-May 23 11-11:30 AM Learning the stories of our faith takes time spent "wondering" and engaging the story in community. This spring we will hear stories of God’s saving activity through several Old Testament stories. Don’t have Legos, or don’t like Legos? No problem! Any building or art materials will do: Kinex, blocks, bunch’ems, magnet tiles, Playmobile, clay, play-dough, Kinetic sand, paper and markers, even Minecraft…the possibilities are endless! Our intergenerational class centers the experiences of children but is open to all ages who are interested in exploring Bible stories in new ways. (Parents and caregivers, I’d love to see what you build for each story – it’s a great way to have faith conversations with your children, too!)

Join Farmer Kyle on May 8 and May 15 to forage through the forests at Bellwether Farm for magnificent morel mushrooms. The foraging will be offered in two time slots: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. You’ll learn how to spot the mushroom, safe ways to harvest, and maybe even get to try a bite of this natural delicacy. This event is open to all ages and is free. Registration is required.

A BIG thank you to our wonderful team of faithful volunteers for your time and energy this week as we completed our annual Spring Switch-over. We are all ready for the spring and summer months down in the shop with warm-weather clothing and homegoods now available!

DIOCESE OF OHIO Yoga Retreat at Bellwether Farm Join Valerie Williams in a yoga retreat at Bellwether Farm on May 14-15. Participants will practice meditation, intention-setting, and yoga amidst the fields, forests, ponds, and livestock of Bellwether Farm. A farm-to-table lunch will be served on Saturday.
