Next to New Update Thursday January 3rd, Trinity welcomed Lynzi Miller to her first official day as manager of our Next to New Shop! Her enthusiasm is contagious and we are excited to see the new things she has planned for the shop. Stay tuned! Next to New is excited to get back to another great year at Trinity! Stop by next week to check out some great deals on Valentine’s Day décor and pick out a free top, pair of slacks and stuffed animal! Winter Convocation February 1-2, 2019 Kalahari Convention Center Registration is now! Prices increase January 10th. This year’s Convocation’s Keynote Speaker is the Rev. Kit Carlson, who will be discussing her book Speaking Our Faith. The time to speak, to share our faith, is now. The Rev. Kit Carlson offers a road map for those who want to learn to speak about the faith that lives within them. Kit will help us put words to our own experiences of God and our personal beliefs, and begin to have compassionate, caring conversations with other people about spirituality, belief, and Jesus Christ. All adult registrants will receive a copy of Kit's individual and small group guide to her new book Speaking our Faith.

The Good Book Club- Epiphany 2019 The Good Book Club is an invitation to all Episcopalians to join in reading Saint Paul’s Letter to the Romans during Epiphany 2019. Episcopalians will start reading Romans on January 7, 2019 and read a section every day (except Sundays) through the Epiphany season. Forward Movement has divided Romans into 50 daily readings, beginning on Monday, January 7, and concluding on Shrove Tuesday, March 5. Each day, participants are invited to read, reflect, and pray upon a few verses of Romans. On Sundays, we encourage participants to take a break from Romans and listen and respond to the lectionary readings at their local churches. Click here to view the readings or download a PDF. Join others in our denomination, including our Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, as we journey through this text together!

Next to New Update Next to New would like to offer a special thank you to the generous volunteers who made it out to our MLK Day #dayofservice! We were blessed with a dozen volunteers who helped reorganize and clean up around the shop and in our store rooms!

Sale of the Week Half price on all sporting goods and athletic tops, bottoms and shoes in honor of Super Bowl LII! Next to New Donation Requests for February & March Next to New has been truly blessed with donations from our congregation and surrounding community over the past 3 months, which has led to a surplus of many items in our store rooms. For the months of February and March, NTN will only be accepting donations of winter coats, boots, hats, gloves and menâ€™s pants. All other donations left in our bins will be forwarded on to Easterseals of Northern Ohio. We are so grateful to all of you who have shared your generosity with NTN and Trinity!

Meet the High School Choral Scholar: Isaac Slater Isaac Slater is in the ninth grade at Toledo School for the Arts. He is very excited to perform in the choir at Trinity Episcopal Church. His interests include jazz, singing, and theater. Some of his favorite roles for the theater have been Danny in Grease, Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, and Orsino in Twelfth Night. His most recent stage recognition was in TSAâ€™s Catch Me if you Can.Â Isaac would like to thank Mrs. Dauel for recommending him to sing at Trinity.

CRU Event: Celebration of Absalom Jones Sunday February 17, 4:00pm The 2019 Absalom Jones Celebration will be held on Sunday, February 17 at 4:00 p.m. at Christ Church, Shaker Heights. This is a diocesan-wide event and all are welcome to attend. The Rev. Sharon Williams will be the preacher and the Rt. Rev. Arthur B. Williams, Jr. will be the celebrant. The offerings from the service will go to support the two remaining Episcopal Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCUs): St. Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC, and Voorhees College in Denmark, SC. The Celebration commemorates the life and witness of Absalom Jones, the first African American priest in the Episcopal Church, who gained his freedom in the post-Revolutionary War era. Jones contributed greatly to one of the first large free black communities in the United States.
