Trinity Sport

Sp rt at Trinity

Welcome

Our aim at Trinity is to ensure that every student, regardless of their previous experience, has the opportunity to represent the school in at least one of the 22 competitive sports we offer. Whether through our games curriculum or cocurricular programmes, we are committed to inspiring a love for sport. We want every young person to leave Trinity with a passion for physical activity that will enrich their lives and support a lifelong commitment to health and fitness.

Our ethos and values

We encourage our students to actively participate in a diverse range of sporting and physical activities. Rather than specialising in one sport from a young age, we encourage variety, and it is not uncommon for students to engage in up to three different sports in a single school day.

This broad approach nurtures well-rounded athletes and encourages a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity. Alongside this, fun events such as the annual Mob Run (pictured right) - where Junior, First, Second and Third Year students take part and the Junior Year Triathlon - help to build camaraderie and joy in shared achievement.

At Trinity, we chase our sporting goals with relentless ambition, show the grit to persevere through adversity, and the humility to stay grounded, no matter the outcome.

Since 2023, Trinity qualified for an extraordinary 15 national finals across seven different sports, winning five in total. Central to this success is the high levels of participation in both the Lower and Middle Schools, along with remarkable

70% of our High Performance athletes continue to represent the school in at least two sports, with well over 50% of our Senior Teams players having not played that sport before joining Trinity.

support from parents. Many students go on to compete at the highest level, having first discovered their passion for the sport at Trinity.

Our expert coaching staff, many of whom have represented and/or coached their country, guide and develop students who show potential. For those aspiring to a career in sport, we offer a High Performance Programme, overseen by our Assistant Director of Sport, Mr Grant BeresfordMiller gbm@trinity.croydon.sch.uk

Welcoming girls in Years 6 and 7 from September 2027

As Trinity extends co-education, our vision is clear: to provide the same outstanding sporting opportunities for girls that boys have long enjoyed. Our ambition is to become one of the strongest co-educational schools for sport locally and nationally.

We are investing in new facilities to support this growth, which will benefit all students including: The Studio – a new space for dance, spin, and yoga, open and in use now.

A new netball facility - opening Summer 2026. A new elite level astro - opened Autumn 2025. An expanded Fitness Room - to support strength, conditioning, and overall wellbeingopening 2028.

Girls at Trinity will be offered major sports including hockey, netball, and cricket, alongside a wide variety of co-curricular options throughout the week. They will compete in fixtures against local schools and proudly represent Trinity in regional and national cup competitions.

Our commitment is to ensure every girl at Trinity has the chance to thrive in sport, develop resilience, and share in the joy of competition and teamwork.

Thank you for your interest in Sport at Trinity School. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our open events.

Mr Sean King, Director of Sport sdk@trinity.croydon.sch.uk.
