JUNIOR SCHOOL LEADERS
Leadership Structure
Leadership in the Junior School is built through a three-tier structure that provides meaningful opportunities for all students to develop responsibility, service and positive role modelling
Tier 3: Prefects
Elected by staff and peers, Prefects assist with assemblies, lead Open Day tours and represent the Junior School within the wider College community.
Tier 2: Captains
Students apply to represent areas such as House, Music, Dance and Altar Serving, contributing to key events and initiatives across the school
Tier 1: Year 6 Cohort
As the senior students of the Junior School, Year 6 boys lead by example, support younger students and embody the College’s mantra of being Men for Others

As the Junior School Head Prefect, I’m excited to share what makes our school such a great place to learn and grow
At Trinity, we treat each other fairly and make sure everyone feels welcome from the moment they arrive Our teachers are always there to help, support, and encourage us, which makes settling in much easier
One of the best parts of school life is sport - we have it twice a week, and there’s something for everyone We also get to enjoy a range of specialist subjects like Music, Art, Science and Italian, which means there’s always something new to try. If you want to give something a go, Trinity is the place to do it
There are plenty of music opportunities too, whether you want to learn an instrument, join a band, or just explore something new

Building Independence and Character
Formation and Character Programs
At Trinity College, education extends beyond academic learning. Our Junior School Formation Program plays a vital role in shaping the character, values and relationships of our students as they grow through the early years of their Trinity journey.
The program is thoughtfully structured across each year level, supporting boys as they develop socially, emotionally and spiritually.
Year 4
In Year 4, the focus is on belonging and building positive relationships. Through shared experiences and reflective activities, boys begin forming strong connections with their peers while developing an understanding of empathy, respect and gratitude
This foundation helps create a supportive environment where each student feels known, valued and connected to the wider Trinity community
Year 5
In Year 5, the program builds on this foundation by introducing opportunities for leadership and responsibility Students are encouraged to develop initiative and confidence as they begin to influence and support those around them
Through collaboration and service, boys learn that leadership is not simply about position, but about the way they act, contribute and care for others
Year 6
By Year 6, boys are guided toward greater independence as they prepare for the transition to Middle School The program emphasises self-management, resilience and personal accountability, encouraging students to take ownership of their choices, learning and relationships.
Through mentoring opportunities and increased responsibility, boys are supported to lead themselves with confidence.
Together, these experiences form a clear developmental pathway, shaping young men who are prepared to contribute positively to their community and live out the College’s commitment to being Men for Others
Co-Curricular Options
At Trinity, learning continues well beyond the classroom. Our Junior School co-curricular program provides students with opportunities to explore new interests, develop confidence and build valuable life skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
The transition from Junior School to Senior School is an important milestone in a student’s Trinity journey. At Trinity, this transition is carefully supported through a structured Year 7 Transition Program designed to help boys move into Secondary School with confidence.
Throughout Year 6, students gradually begin preparing for the routines and expectations of Senior School. Classroom environments evolve to reflect the structure of Year 7 learning, helping boys develop the organisational skills, independence and study habits needed for the next stage of their education.
Students also have opportunities to visit Senior School classrooms, meet key teachers and become familiar with the wider campus. Events such as the Year 7 Orientation Day allow boys to connect with the students who will begin their Trinity journey alongside them
Importantly, detailed handover meetings between Junior and Senior School staff ensure each student’s academic progress and wellbeing needs are well understood.
Through this thoughtful process, Trinity supports every boy to step confidently into the opportunities of Year 7
