ATHLETICS STRATEGIC VISION 2026

A PROGRAM WITH A PURPOSE

Mission - The mission of TCA athletics is to prepare student-athletes to become leaders and champions by placing the highest values on excellence, teamwork, character, player development, spiritual development and servant leadership.
Philosophy - The TCA athletic department is dedicated to fostering a Christ-centered environment where student-athletes can excel spiritually, socially, emotionally and athletically. We believe that sports are powerful tools for teaching life lessons, building character and glorifying God, while ultimately striving for competitive success.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR FUTURE SUCCESS
What does success look like for TCA athletics?
Our athletics program is a success when students experience continuous growth as athletes and as followers of Christ. True success is measured not only in the number of wins or championships, but in the way it develops young men and women physically, mentally, emotionally, competitively and spiritually.
TCA student-athletes will be equipped and have the opportunity to perform at their personal best through training in mindset, strength and conditioning, nutrition, and recovery. Beyond physical training, students will learn how to be successful in life through developing positive attitude, integrity, work ethic, preparation skills, leadership, humility, resiliency and grit.
The athletics experience at TCA is part of our mission to educate and develop the whole child for the glory of God. Everything we do is in service of that mission.

COMMUNITY INPUT
The TCA Board of Trustees created a Strategic Athletic Advisory Committee to gather input and set direction. Committee members included:
• Trustees
• Administrators
• Coaches
• Students
• Parents
• Alumni
The committee held information sessions; interviewed student-athletes, coaches and parents; consulted peer institutions; and considered survey responses and other input in order to set a strategic vision for athletics at TCA.
STRATEGIC VISION FOR ATHLETICS
Vision
As part of our mission to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God, we will deliver the best student experience in athletics while providing opportunities for student-athletes to succeed and be all God has called them to be.
TCA Core Values
• Christ-Centered – Athletics is a platform for spiritual growth. Through servant leadership and daily discipleship, we develop competitors who honor Christ in preparation, performance, victory and defeat.
• Excellence – We pursue excellence in every aspect of our athletics program. Excellence means continuous growth — physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
• Community – Athletics builds unity through teamwork, accountability and shared commitment. Student-athletes support one another, compete together and represent TCA well.
• Tradition – We honor the legacy of TCA athletics by competing honorably and developing strong character, integrity and perseverance in our student-athletes.

Strategic Focus Areas
To achieve our vision and deliver on our values, nine focus areas have been identified.
1. Implement new athletic structure – TCA will hire an executive director of athletics who will work to fulfill the mission and set a structure that provides a consistently excellent experience across all levels.
2. Increase budget – In order to retain and hire coaches and increase professional development, additional funds will be invested.
3. Create and communicate clear standards – The executive director of athletics and coaches will develop clear goals and standards for participation in sports and clearly communicate those to students and parents.
4. Develop Trojan code of conduct – TCA will develop a code of conduct addressing standards, expectations and boundaries for involvement in the athletic program.
5. Develop strategies to optimize our existing talent pool and attract new talent – Offseason plans and goals will be established to foster yearround player development for student-athletes, and we will create a youth sports program so students can start learning and developing at a younger age. While upholding our admission standards and adherence to TAPPS guidelines, we will seek to attract new students and families who agree with our mission and who wish to compete at a high level athletically.

6. Develop strategic partnerships with area club coaches and trainers –We will cultivate relationships with outside coaches and trainers who might be a good fit for TCA.
7. Establish a mentorship program – We will pair new students or potential new students with current TCA families or students to welcome them into the community and help them integrate.
8. Develop strategies to remain competitive without compromising our mission – We will always remain focused on our school’s mission and will not lower our academic standards or stray from our focus on Christ. Our athletics program exists to enhance our ability to live out our mission.
9. Enhance athletic facilities – We have recently upgraded our playing surfaces — new turf, new track, refinished MCB Gym court and tennis courts — and installed outdoor baseball/softball lighting and indoor video scoreboards. In addition, we will add new football grandstands that will house new locker rooms, coaches’ offices and training rooms; renovate the Field House; and explore possible expansion opportunities to provide more playing fields and facilities in order to give more opportunities for students to experience athletics at TCA.

MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER
At Trinity Christian Academy, athletics is an important part of our mission to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God. Through competition, training and teamwork, our students learn discipline, perseverance, humility and leadership — qualities that will serve them for a lifetime.
This strategic vision reflects the thoughtful input of many voices across the TCA community, including trustees, administrators, coaches, parents, alumni and our student-athletes themselves. I am grateful for the time, prayer and commitment that so many invested in shaping this plan for the future of TCA athletics.
The path ahead is both exciting and challenging. Achieving this vision will require dedication, collaboration and a shared commitment to excellence. But it is worth it to provide the best possible student experience while developing young men and women who honor Christ in competition, in the classroom and in life.
I am excited about what lies ahead for Trojan athletics, and I look forward to seeing how God will continue to work through the lives of our student-athletes in the years ahead.
