Dan Beckler // Dean of Athletics & Advancement
On behalf of Trinity Academy, I want to welcome everyone joining us today. We’re glad you’re here, and we hope you enjoy the event.

A special welcome to our guests. We appreciate you being part of today’s game and bringing the spirit of healthy competition. We look forward to a contest that reflects good sportsmanship and mutual respect. Events like this give our students, families, and supporters a chance to come together, and we’re grateful to share that with you.
As we support our athletes, let’s remember that sports are an opportunity to grow in character. Whether the outcome is a win or a loss, the effort, attitude, and integrity shown on the field are what matter most. We encourage all fans to cheer in ways that are positive and encouraging, and to respect the officials who make this event possible.
Your safety and comfort are important to us. If you need assistance at any time, please feel free to contact one of our staff members.
Above all, we pray that our athletes use their God-given abilities in a way that honors Jesus in both their words and actions. Thank you again for being with us today. We hope you enjoy the game.
matt baty, Baseball Coach
Head Coach Matt Baty coached the Trinity baseball team to a State Championship in 2025. Matt played D1 baseball and is the founder of 316 Baseball Academy, the largest baseball academy in the region.
He was a four-year starter and a two-year team captain at KU (1st Team All-Big 12, Big 12 Champion and 2006 Most Outstanding Player). He later worked as an assistant athletic director of development at WSU, a senior associate athletic director at KU, as well as the chief executive officer of Mass St. Collective, the Name-Image-Likeness (NIL) organization for KU. He was the assistant baseball coach at Andover High School and the owner, operator, and coach of 316 Baseball Academy.
Because of his background in college athletics, Baty has significant connections to college coaches, making him an ideal candidate for guiding students who want to play at the next level. In fact, Baty has successfully placed 100% of the more than 300 baseball players at 316 Baseball Academy who wanted to play college ball.
casey casamento, Girls soccer Coach
Coach Casey Casamento led the Trinity Knights boys team from 2021–2023, guiding them each year to State finishes — 2nd place in 2021, 4th place in 2022, and 3rd place in 2023. Casey has faithfully served Trinity Academy as our director of soccer for the past two years. Under his leadership, Trinity launched both boys and girls middle school soccer teams, giving our younger students the opportunity to compete at Stryker while building a strong foundation for the future of Trinity soccer. Coach Casamento played soccer at Wichita Southeast High School, where he was a 2-year captain and the metro scoring champion. He received 1st Team All-Metro Honors and 1st Team State Honors.
In college, he played at Johnson County Community College and Friends University and earned 2nd Team All-Conference Honors at both institutions. He spent seven years coaching club soccer for FC Wichita.
Shelly Green, girls Swim Coach
Shelly Green began coaching Trinity swimming in 2021. She has spent 30+ years teaching/coaching swim. Her students range from 6-month olds to elderly people and include professional tri-athletes. Coach Green began competitively swimming in Iowa at the age of 9 and teaching lessons at 14. She swam for Storm Lake Swim Club and Storm Lake High School, was a state finalist, swam at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, has practiced with masters teams, was a member of the Andover Tri Club, and has competed in triathlons. Her coaching resume includes KAST (NE club team), Genesis Health Clubs (recreational league), and Classical School of Wichita. Shelly has previously worked as a dietary technician, and is currently a Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist. Her background as a competitive swimmer, instructor, dietary tech, and therapist have made her a highly qualified high school coach.

Eric Carroll, track and field coach
Eric Carroll has been running since middle school, competing at the high school level, and running briefly at Wichita State University. He also ran with the Inner-America Racing Team.
“My goal is to develop the unique gifts that God has given these kids and to build in them a confidence that they can take in life way past running. I hope to build discipline in them to help develop their character,” he said.
Tom Wierman, boys tennis coach
Head tennis coach Tom Wierman picked up tennis later in life when he attended a cardio tennis class at the gym and got hooked. He loves the game and loves learning everything he can about it.
“Learning never stops,” says Wierman. “There is something to be learned every day, and the skills learned on the court can be valuable life lessons.”
Wierman has been involved in coaching various youth sports like soccer over the years. He began as the assistant tennis coach at Trinity in 2023 and was promoted to head coach of both the boys and girls teams in 2024.
Steve Cross, softball coach
Steve Cross has served as the head softball coach at Trinity since 2021. Under his leadership, the Knights have claimed League titles in 2023, 2024 and 2025 as well as Regional championships in 2024 and 2025, and a 3rd place finish at the State level in 2024. Cross was honored as CPL Coach of the Year in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Additionally, he has coached two national championship-winning teams with the Texas Glory Academy.
“My goal is to help our players grow into strong, confident women who make lasting memories, balance school, and share how God has worked in their lives,” said Cross.
