Updates

We just wrapped up our recruitment for the semester led by our Recruitment Chair Connor Skaggs (Spring 25). We ended up with an incoming class of 12 New Members joining our chapter this Spring. Last semester we had a class of 5 New Members join our chapter who were initiated at the end of the semester.

We’d love to hear from our alumni about your careers and time at Ohio State! We’re especially interested in what you do professionally and any advice you’d be willing to share If you’re open to mentoring or offering guidance to our undergraduate members, please reach out to osutriangle@gmail.com we’d love to connect!

Currently as a chapter we are still renting a property from a Columbus Organization. While we do rent the house, we still are looking to renovate some of our belongings and spruce up our chapter composites and furniture. We’d really appreciate any help our brothers would be willing to give!

Chapter Highlights

As we are ramping up for our 2026 year we wanted to inform all of our brothers about what the chapter has been doing over the past year. This year we bolstered our relationship with our campus friends, building relations with Phi Sigma Rho, Gamma Phi Beta, and Delta Omega Kappa. As we continue our efforts in 2026 we hope to throw more events with our on campus friends and expand our presence at Ohio State. As a chapter we’ve stayed busy with weekly brotherhood events like movie nights, poker nights, and trips to local food spots throughout Columbus. We held two successful brotherhood retreats to Mineral, Virginia and Fort Lauderdale this past year which we plan to replicate this coming year.

Our chapter has bolstered its service efforts with multiple local nonprofits. This past November we held our most successful Extra Life to date. While we had to bid our senior class farewell, over the past year we welcomed 16 new

brothers into our chapter and have an incoming new member class of 12. We’re very excited for the opportunity to continue growing at Ohio State.

Last year we were honored to receive a multitude of awards from both Ohio State and National Headquarters including Outstanding Commitment to Harm Reduction and Chapter President of the Year These are just a few of the highlights from this past year and we’re thrilled

Philanthropy

This past semester, we hosted multiple successful philanthropy drives. Last November, we hosted our largest fundraising effort, a 24 hour charity live stream for Nationwide Children’s Hospital. With their Extra Life program, our chapter got together to raise money via a livestream complete with donation goals along the way. Together with our alumni, family, and friends, we raised a grand total of $5,200 for charity! This year’s Extra Life was our most successful yet, and we’re incredibly thankful for the hard work of our brothers and the generosity of all those who donated to our live stream While Extra Life was our most successful event as a chapter, we held a few other fundraising events such as our yearly Battleship event at the RPAC and Triangle Toast We were able to raise money for St Jude's and Triangle’s national nonprofit First Robotics.

Service

Recently, our service efforts were revitalized by former Service Chair Sam Baccei (Fall 24). As part of our effort to give back to the Columbus Community, we set ourselves the goal of hitting 7 service hours per brother. Ultimately, we averaged 9 service hours per brother! This past year, we expanded our connections with Columbus Parks, Adaptive Sports Connection, and Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio. Last semester, we went out to a Kayak Maintenance Day at Adaptive Sports Connection in Powell, Ohio. Adaptive Sports Connection specializes in helping disabled individuals experience a variety of outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, and biking. We first developed a relationship with them after finding out that a chapter alumnus, Jon Gilles, had volunteered with them in the past, and we hope to keep up with this connection in the future A few other highlights from the semester include park cleanups, food pantry drives, and volunteering with our local soup kitchen. Just recently, we participated in the MLK Day of Service hosted by Ohio State, and we plan on continuing to volunteer with Lutheran Social Services and Adaptive Sports Connection this year.

Brotherhood

This past year, we made it one of our top priorities to strengthen our chapter’s brotherhood and planned a couple of exciting events for the year. Last semester, we instituted weekly movie nights at our chapter house to provide an opportunity for brothers to get together and unwind. These efforts were spearheaded by our former Brotherhood Chair and current alumus Cole Rhodes (Spring 23) We started attending weekly trivia nights at a local restaurant in

Spring Break 2025

Columbus on Thursdays and made an effort to get out of the house to explore our city. Our biggest and most exciting event from last year came during fall break when we hosted our annual brotherhood retreat to Mineral, Virginia! We made the trek down to Lake Anna and rented a house on the lake, and spent a few days unwinding from classes. Together we went kayaking, grilled out, and went hiking in the Shenandoah Forest. This semester, we plan to go back to Hollywood Beach for our Spring Brotherhood retreat, which is coming up in March!

FINAL NOTES

Our chapter is still currently renting a property from a leasing company in Columbus, Ohio. Recently, we’ve started an effort to update and refurbish the property with new furniture, updated composites, and additional amenities for brothers! Our leasing company isn’t always the most cooperative when it comes to upkeep, fees, and general needs, so we would greatly appreciate any donations to help support our chapter house in the immediate future. For the foreseeable future, it seems likely that we’ll continue to live in our current house, and we’d like to make it as comfortable as possible for the brothers who currently live there. We would appreciate any donations that would assist with updating some of our chapter belongings or assist with communal supplies for our Fraternity. As our chapter has grown, we hope to one day get a house of our own, but for now, we’d like to make our current house as welcoming to live in as possible. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.

We’d also love to hear from our alumni about your experiences launching your careers. If you’re interested in mentoring or sharing advice with our undergraduate members, we would be grateful to connect! This year, we hope to strengthen our professional alumni network and establish a mentorship program for our chapter. Many of our members joined seeking guidance on entering the workforce as engineers, and learning from alumni in the industry would be invaluable. If you’re interested, please reach out to osutriangle@gmail.com.

Later this semester, on April 12 at 12:00 PM in the Ohio Union, we invite all alumni to join us for our annual Founders’ Day presentation! The chapter will share a year in review and take time to reconnect with our alumni. A complimentary lunch at the house will follow the presentation. Additional details and RSVP information have been sent via email, so please check your inbox. We hope you’ll join us!
