Message from the Alumni President
Beyond growth in size, the KSR Board and I have noticed marked growth in the Chapter’s operation I want to specifically commend our Coaches, Brothers Ryan Bratt, Brandon Montalvo, and Collin Shale They are “in the trenches” on a day to day and week to week basis to coach and mentor the actives on the running of an effective organization. A lot of us take for granted the mentorship upperclassman provided us while we
were new in the chapter or an office role The coaches are stepping in to provide that institutional knowledge and know-how as we rebuild In that, I can say I’ve seen significant personal growth in our actives, and they’ve met the challenges head on.
That personal growth is something that I think resonates in all of us. The Code of Ethics can seem an abstract concept to a nineteen year old taking a leap of faith to join an organization. I know it was for me. It’s only in being tested by life, school, family, or anything else can they understand what it is to live that Brotherhood. The house, the scholarships, the good times, and the bad times, all exist downstream of our culture I think that culture is stronger today than it’s been in many years
It’s also been a busy summer and fall for KSR Our fall 2025 Annual Meeting happened before the golf outing We welcomed three new board members, Brothers Ryan Bratt, Kevin Neives, and Tyler Fehser I welcome them with open arms. Additionally, we had good success fundraising during the event that was attended by almost 40 brothers.
Congratulations to this year’s winner of the Jason Prudlow Memorial Trophy, Brothers Kamil Karmali, Tyler Sutton, Jeremy Matus, and Chad Wetzel
You’ve no doubtably seen our capital campaign appeals in past newsletters. We had many donors, large and small, come forward to provide the funds to kickstart the chapter. We provided the structure in the form of two years of hours rent and utilities, along with a chapter advisor, to get headed in the right direction. Additionally, we’ve restocked the house with new furniture for the first time since it was built, replacing many items in disrepair. And finally, we were able to provide a much needed cosmetic refresh to the front foyer to give the best first impression possible
All of that is possible due to donations from our generous brothers However, I’m asking for your help to keep the momentum going KSR has two financial needs, one immediate and one longer term In the immediate, the board took out a line of credit with the Triangle Building and Housing Corporation in 2022 to have operating funds for the

This largely went to utilities and expenses for our chapter advisor such as tuition There remains approximately $8,000 on that line of credit the board is looking to pay off in the next year Your direct, post-tax donations to KSR are our only way to pay that line of credit off.
Lastly, our main focus remains f
improvements The foyer project pictured here is just the first of many projects we’ve lined up from your larger donations to the First Dollar Fund These tax advantaged funds go through Marquette and Facilities Services Their team has been extremely diligent working with us to plan our future improvements so our house remains an asset for decades to come. Chapter Update and Future
The MU active chapter has experienced a productive past 6 months, with several achievements as well as changes to the structure and philosophy of the chapter, given the new E-board elected last November. I, Thomas Dietz, would like to present some of these as a demonstration of our growth and journey to full recolonization and recharting as an active organization within the National Fraternity.
Since last spring, we have had a shifting roster of actives with two new members coming in last November, totaling 15 current active members With that said, we plan to bring in a large class of new members in the coming semester, thanks in part to our reorganized recruitment plan Special thanks to Brandon Montalvo for
In closing, you will find a long range calendar later in this update The Brotherhood doesn’t stop after graduation and the years immediately after Put a few of those dates in your calendar and come say hello
In F, S, & C,
helping us refine our recruitment efforts last semester by dedicating his time to teaching the current brothers how to approach recruitment effectively.
With the new E-board, 6 of the board members attended LTW weekend this past January, with many lessons and strategies being learned and implemented in the past few weeks, as well as planning a greater and more active semester. For example, a deeper understanding of responsibility delegation to avoid burnout for a single brother, as well as understanding our brothers’ mental health, can improve the overall health of the entire chapter The past semester has served as a framework and a springboard to the current semester, with many previous implementations helping to streamline the roles and responsibilities of brothers Tools such as
our new budget spreadsheet outline, as well as our focus on communication has given us new opportunities for efficiency, stronger bonds, and overall brotherhood. The development of our brothers has improved throughout the semester, with a resume workshop being held by Charlie Brault to help our brothers with their future.
Additionally, we plan to have at least 3 more similar workshops to improve the professionalism and skills of our brothers. Events such as a campus clean-up, bigger recruitment activities, and Founders’ Day are all in the works with the brothers of Marquette working to make sure our chapter not only has a positive relationship with other Triangle chapters but also with the Marquette community

To close off, we at Marquette Triangle want to thank our Alumni support, with special thanks to Brandon Montalvo, Derek Fennig, Ryan Bratt, and Dave Bonin for helping the chapter through the past semester and for their continued support through our highs and lows We hope they continue to help us in the coming year, as well as many years yet to come
Sincerely,
Chapter President and Brother Thomas Dietz
