This year’s sportfest, held from January 20 to 30, 2026, at our school campus, provided many students with reasons why it is still one of the most awaited activities in school. For many students who joined and watched, sportfest is the one event that reminds them school can be more than deadlines and exams. The energy, friendly faces, and little sparks of shared enthusiasm could be seen everywhere on campus. When students feel included and heard during events like this, school activities become more than just programs — they become experiences that students carry with them even after the games end. Students cheered for their teams, celebrated small wins, and felt good simply being part of something beyond the usual classroom routine. In many ways, the feeling of unity that sportfest offers remained present, even though some changes created a slightly different experience for those who participated.

Some well-known games, such as kickball, were also eliminated. These games were important because they were simple and accessible, giving more students the opportunity to participate regardless of ability. Their removal made some students wonder why certain inclusive activities were taken out, especially since sportfest is meant for everyone. It gave the impression that sportfest was slowly becoming less reachable for students who only wanted to join, try, and have fun.
There were also changes in the teams. Before, there were four teams: blue, red, black, and green. However, the black team was removed after two years of losing streak and being considered unlucky. Later on, two more colors were added, making the teams pink, blue, red, yellow, purple, and green. Because of this, there were fewer members in each group. Smaller teams made it harder to build stronger relationships and truly feel the group’s power, even when unity was still present. Since the goal of sportfest is to bring students together, reducing the number of members per team somewhat weakened that bond.
Although sportfest was still successful in bringing students together at school, it could be even more effective in the future. By looking at what changes were made, who they affected, where the impact was most felt on campus, when traditions shifted, and why these decisions were implemented, future sportfests can improve. Restoring cheering, bringing back inclusive games, and balancing team distribution could make the event more meaningful for all participants while keeping its sense of togetherness alive.

As the game starts, the school applauded in happiness as the game started after the yellow team won zumba dance for being a champion, 1st place. Games started as everyone cheered and played to win for their teams. Some are competitive and some are having fun for themselves to enjoy and have a free time away from learning and stress before learning starts again after the intramd game. They played games by teamwork, hardship, sportsmanship, lastly participation.

Intrams create an inclusive environment where everyone can feel involved and enjoy being part of the community to play with each other and interact to one another. Win or lose, you had fun with your friends a lot. Partner up with each other and have sportsmanship. Each student help and participate not just for their winning and success but for enjoyment to release stress from school works, homeworks and group works. Students cheered high and loud happily and excitement for the games and challenge to begin.

Every student signed up for the games they want to play or interested to play by curiosity and more challenge as they want to make their hobby to expand their excitement and curiosity in games more. Discipline, hardwork, sportsmanship, respect, physical fitness and lighten up the school spirit. Each color team Blue stallions, Green tamaraw, Yellow falcons, Purple vipers, Pink panther, and red war lions made their way to the finish line as they compete by playing games such as patintero, sungka, dodgeball, pingpong, or table tennis and etc... On January 26 of 2026, Educare College INC. held the opening of their Sportsfest for this School Year. During this time, the students get excited, every team gets competitive, and the wide grounds become the center of the school. To some, Sportsfest is just a break from lessons or a competition for trophies. But if we look closer, it is one of the most meaningful events a school can hold. It teaches lessons a book can't fully explain to students, as well as teachers.

Sportsfest promotes physical health, cooperation, and unity. There are times when many students are manning on the grounds, dancing during cheerdance or zumba, or even just cheering from the sidelines reminds us that everything matters. It encourages students to step out of their comfort zones, try new activities, and discover strengths they never knew they had.

Winning is exciting but simply showing up and giving your best is already a win for everyone. Beyond playing games, Sportsfest builds character and team sports which demand discipline, patience, and cooperation. You quickly learn that talent alone is not enough and success comes from trust and teamwork. When a team loses, students experience disappointment and learn how to handle it with sportsmanship. When they win, they learn humility and respect for their opponents. These moments quietly shape values that students will carry long even when the sportsfest ends. Sportsfest is not just a time for playing and having fun. It is also a time for learning more values and being united.
