Through the Green DO YOU KNOW HOW TO FIX BALL MARKS? The average golfer will make 8 ball per round. This means that if 150 people play the course per day this equals 1,200 ball marks per day. Multiply that by 365 days in a year (438,000 ball marks) and your greens will begin to resemble swiss cheese. We can all do our part by fixing ball marks. This will keep the course enjoyable for everyone and consequentially cause more putts to drop!

From The Rockpile Tip of the week By Mitch McMurtry PGA Assistant On the Greens Short putting is one of the most crucial skills to improve your scores and in turn making the game more fun. If you struggle with a slow backswing or inconsistent transition, this drill is great to improve your putting.
Coin Drill Equipment needed: -Putter -3 golf balls -Coin (quarter or ball mark)
Some of the best putters have their peak acceleration during the transition of the putting stroke. Pick a hole on the practice green and find a putt from 8-10 feet. Once you have your spot picked, try and throw the coin away from the target as you approach the backswing and in the transition. This drill will help your consistency and be able to make those 10 footers all year!
THE RULES OF HANDICAPPING
Playing Condition Calculation At the end of each day, the USGA centralized computation system compares the actual scores made at each course to the expected scores of the players who made them. If the scores were significantly higher or lower than expected, an adjustment is automatically applied to everyone who played the course on the day. The range of the PCC adjustment is -1 to +3, with a negative (-) adjustment meaning the course played easier than expected, and a positive (+) adjustment meaning the course played more difficult. On most days, the PCC will be zero (0). If a PCC is applied following one of your rounds, it will be clearly identified within your scoring record. Why Every Score Matters At least 8 scores must be posted before midnight (local time) in order for the calculation to take place - so it's important for all of us as players to post our scores on the day of play.
