EVENTS 9 & Dine - Couples scramble on the first Friday of every month, except in July, on the second Friday. Spring Fling - Tuesday, May 10th This is a 9 & 18 hole guest day event with tee times beginning at 9:00 AM. This is intended to be a fun day of golf with friends without competition. There will be no prizes. Green fees will be waved and lunch will be provided. Golf Fore The Heart - Tuesday, May **** - Ladies day event 9 Hole Member/Guest - Wednesday, June 29th Lunch and Awards to follow. Practice round will be Tuesday, June 28th. 18 Hole Member/Guest - June 29th - 30th Will be played rain or shine. Lunch and Awards to follow. Mixed Member/Guest - Sunday, June 5th Will be played rain or shine. Followed by dinner on the patio. Rally For The Cure - Tuesday, **** Low Gross, Low Net Individual. All participants are encouraged to bring $20 (cash or check) for a donation to the Susan G. Komen Rally For The Cure. Fall Fling - Thursday, September 8th This is a 9 & 18 hole guest day event with tee times beginning at 9:00 AM. This is intended to be a fun day of golf with friends without competition. There will be no prizes. Green fees will be waved and lunch will be provided. IHCC Big Break - Tuesday, September 27th Activities at 10:00 AM followed by closing awards and lunch at noon. Witches Scramble - Tuesday, October 4th Casual ladies scramble to end the year with fun and friends!
TOURNAMENTS Anne Atchison Memorial Handicap Tournament - July 12th13th Tee times assigned by Pro Shop. Both 9 and 18 Holers. Lunch and Awards following play. Anne Combs Club Championship - August 2nd and 3rd Tee times assigned by Pro Shop. Two days of medal play. Flights and Pairings will be determined by handicap. Lunch and Awards following play. Senior Club Championship - Tuesday, August 9th Tee times assigned by Pro Shop. One day of medal play flighted by handicap. All participants must be aged 60 to 69. Lunch and Awards following play. Super Senior Club Championship - Tuesday, August 9th Tee times assigned by Pro Shop. All participants must be 70 or older. Lunch and Awards following play.
AWARDS Elvina De Roode Most Improved Player Award - A perpetual trophy awarded to the player who has improved on their handicap the most during the golf season. To be eligible, a member must be a dues-paying member by June 1st, have an established handicap and have played 15 rounds. The most improved winner is determined by the USGA end-of-year handicap report. Mary Boyd Spirit Award - An award (even years only) presented to the person who exemplifies the spirit of the game and is always there to support and participate in the programs. Hole-In-One Club - $2.00 makes you a member which is billed at the beginning of the season. Anyone apart of the assocation with a witnessed Ace will be awarded the pot, if there is more than one, the prize will be shared. Birdie Tree - Each Ladies Day, the birdie tree will be available to post all birdies you. At the end of the year, you will receive a golf ball for each one. Ringer - A season long event where the best score for each hole you have played is tracked and whoever has the best overall score at the end of the season will win a prize! Chip-In-Pot - $.25 per participate will be paid out to the person who chips in during a ladies day. The pot will carry over if no one chips in. The 2 Club - The 2 Club is comprised of golfers that made a 2 on par 3, once your first 2 is made, stop by the Pro Shop to purchase your 2 Club ball mark for $5. Any time you make a 2 on a par 3 after you join, you will receive $1 from any other 2 Club Member in your group.
EXPLANATION OF GAMES WE PLAY
Scramble - a two, three or four person team. Each player hits, then all second shots are taken from the position deemed best. Play continues in the manner until the ball is hole. Best Ball - The better score of two people on a hole or best score if three or four golfers are playing. One score will result on each hole. Throw Out - After play, certain undisclosed hole scores will be thrown out. The remaining holes will be the players score. Low Gross - Your Score before a Handicap is applied Low Net - Your score once a Handicap is applied Shamble - Select the best drive from your group, then everyone plays their own ball from there until the ball is holed. Crier's Game - Player or pro picks out 4 worse holes and reverts those scores to par. Use full handicap to compile net score. Mutt & Jeff - Total score on Par 3's and Par 5's. Subtract half of your handicap as your score. Blind Partner - Partners are decided after play. Play own ball minus handicap. Add net scores together. Fairways and Putts - only count your fairways hit and putts hit for this event. The winner will the one with the least putts and most fairways. Fewest Putts - This is a gross event. Players keep track of how many putts they have. The player with the least amount of putts is the winner.
EXPLANATION OF GAMES WE PLAY
Net Point Game - Score 1 point for bogey, 2 points for par, 3 points for birdie and 4 points for eagle. The most points wins! Best 15 - Throw out one par 3, one par 4 and one par 5. Subtract full handicap. (18 Holers) Best 7 - Throw out two worst scores. Use full handicap (9 Holers) Divine 9 - Choose two par 3's, two par 5's and five par 4's. Subtract half of handicap (18 Holers) Divine 5 - Choose one par 3, one par 5 and three par 4's. Subtract half of handicap. (9 Holers) Individual Match Play VS Par - Match play format where opponent is par on each hole. Full handicap will be used. 4 Clubs - Select your best 4 clubs in your bag to play your round with. Threesome Relay - Team score will be determined by using six holes from each player of the threesome. Cha-Cha-Cha - On the first hole, use the one single low score among the group. On the second hole, the two low balls combined are the team score. On the third hole, the three low balls of the group count as the score. This process repeats on the 4th hole. Everyone plays their own ball. Pinehurst Alt Shot - This a 2 person event where both players hit their drive. Player A then plays player B's ball and Player B plays A's. At this point the best ball is selected and the players alternate until the ball is holed. Clay's Revenge - a challenge course set up by our Superintendent, good luck!
