LADIES GOLF CLINICS The first week of Ladies Clinic's are in the books and what a great turnout it was! The Beginners Golf Clinic had 20 Ladies come out and enjoy a lesson on putting. These ladies learned the basic fundamentals of a sound putting stroke along with a friendly competition at the of the day. This upcoming week, the Beginner Ladies will be reviewing putting and taking a step up and learning about chipping. It is our belief that everyone learns from the green backwards. We hope by the end of the summer, our new golfers will have a nice fluid swing along with a few rounds under their belt.
If you are interested in learning about the game of golf then we encourage you to come out and participate in our Ladies Beginner Golf Clinic's. We hold these sessions every Thursday at 5:00 PM. Our goal remains the same: Make the game enjoyable for you! Come on out and make a swing or two, to make it even better, grab a friend and make Thursday night the new Ladies Golf Night!

As summer inches closer and closer, Idle Hour's finest Juniors will be participating in an interclub league with Greenbrier Country Club. We have two PGA Junior League teams, The Eagles and The Aces. Our first match will take place this Thursday, May 13th. The Eagles will be at home to take on Greenbrier in what is expected to be a nail-biter! The scouting report shows that Greenbrier may have experience, but with our talent and determination, we can overcome any obstacles thrown at us.
The first practice went well as Coach Quin Ourada and Trevor Duncan were pleased with the effort. "We have a very competitive team with fierce competitors, they all want to win as much as I do!" said Coach Quin. The Aces have a bye week, but will be in action on May 16th at 4:00 PM against Greenbrier Country Club. Lets get the popcorn ready, its now showtime!
As rounds are increasing and summer is closely approaching, the Professional Staff would like to take a few minutes to discuss the importance of proper range care. While hitting balls on the range, it is critical that you take divots in a linear fashion, as shown above. Why is this important? Well for several reasons. First off, you save grass on the range for the next person. This increases the use of the range, which increases the longevity. Another importance of linear divots is that it allows the grass to heal faster. We all want the grass and the range to look pristine, so take those divots one behind another.
P.S. Taking divots in a line makes you look like a fancy tour player!!
