Seabourn is delighted to welcome back portrait painter Richard Stone. In 1973, aged 22, he secured the commission to paint her Majesty the Queen Mother by coldcalling Clarence House! Richard has completed commissioned portraits for members of the Royal Family including Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and King Charles III. He also painted the official portrait of Margaret Thatcher, who upon inspecting his work, requested that he add her handbag to the portrait. Stone’s 1992 portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was used by the BBC during the announcement of her death and in obituary broadcasts.
