/ WALDORF ASTORIA / CURACAO, CARIBBEAN / FALL 2025

The Curaçao Waldorf Resort reinterprets luxury hospitality through climate-responsive design and site integration. Positioned along the Caribbean coastline, the project maximizes ocean views, prevailing winds, and shaded outdoor circulation to enhance thermal comfort and guest experience.

The massing steps with the terrain, creating layered terraces and private balconies that frame the horizon while minimizing site disruption. Open-air corridors, courtyards, and water features promote natural ventilation and passive cooling strategies suited to the tropical climate. Material selections draw from local textures and tones, blending contemporary elegance with regional identity.

My role focused on all public spaces and exterior environments, including site planning, outdoor programming, and circulation strategies for 2,000 cruise visitors arriving from the adjacent port. I developed activity zones and guest-flow sequences that enhance the visitor experience while increasing exposure to key commercial areas such as retail, dining, cinema, and casino spaces.

The project balances exclusivity with environmental awareness, demonstrating how resort architecture can be immersive, context-driven, and sustainably grounded.

/ THE EYE FOR CULTURE CENTER / NEW YORK CITY / SPRING 2025

Located in New York City, the Eye for Culture Center addresses cultural and economic barriers that limit access to the arts for elderly, low-income, and Asian communities. At the same time, it creates visibility and opportunity for emerging artists.

The project integrates technology training spaces, free public gallery areas, and flexible cultural exchange zones that support intergenerational and cross-cultural engagement. Dedicated areas provide space for marginalized communities to share traditions, host events, and build networks.

Beyond its social mission, the building promotes urban biodiversity. The façade incorporates integrated birdhouses, food stations, and water sources to support local bird species, merging cultural inclusion with ecological responsibility.

The Eye for Culture Center redefines the art institution as an accessible, community-driven, and environmentally responsive space.

/ THE MORGAN CITY EXCHANGE/ MORGAN CITY, LA / SPRING 2025

The Morgan City X–change (MCX) is a climate-resilient civic hub designed for a flood-prone coastal community. The project functions as both an emergency response center and a daily community resource, supporting education, innovation, and social connection.

Its S-shaped form elevates critical spaces above flood levels while creating shaded public areas below for gathering and staging during disasters. Upper levels house maker spaces, an incubation lab, food distribution, and multipurpose community areas.

Environmental strategies include bioswales, rain gardens, permeable surfaces, rooftop gardens, and passive daylighting to reduce runoff, improve energy performance, and support biodiversity.

MCX reimagines civic infrastructure as adaptive, inclusive, and environmentally responsive—serving as both a refuge in crisis and a catalyst for longterm resilience.
