The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event. People all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan . We had coffee mornings running at Sale Leisure Centre, George H Carnall and Urmston Leisure Centre. Sale Leisure Centre managed to raise £153.07 for a fantastic cause and George H Carnall raised £700. Well done and thank you to everyone who helped out.

During July Louise intervened and dealt with a difficult customer who allowed his 7 year old child in the pool without an adult. Well done Louise and thank you to everyone for your hard work. Marsland House, but as we continue to find both ways of driving efficiencies to make cost savings or investing to grow income, the move to the golf course is too big an opportunity to miss. We don’t have an official move date yet, Kevin Henderson is on the case but it will be within the next 3 months. Moving out of Marsland provides cost savings; but we have also been looking at where we need to invest further to drive increased profits over the next few years. Not in any particular order....

Trafford Sports Awards 2018 I joined Trafford Leisure in 2003, to help me lose a bit of weight and get fitter. Over the last 15 years I have attended most of the leisure centres participating in a variety of classes including spinning, pump, yoga, abs and pilates. During this time I have made life-long friends. My main centre is Stretford Sports Village where I go on a daily basis. I find all the staff are brilliant, helpful, friendly and very supportive at all levels. The classes I attend are taught by the best instructors making each one unique, fun, challenging and motivational in their own way, helping me gain the best results possible.

A subsequent MRI scan showed significant damage in his neck affecting his spinal cord.

During this time, Margaret herself had become worried about her weight and her lack of exercise. She turned to her local GP who referred her to the Physical Activity Referral. She says: “The referral process was so easy. Josh made contact with me and told me all about the leisure centre. I was impressed. I told him, once my husband was a bit better, that I would be in touch to commence my eight week referral programme.” Margaret began her eight week referral programme, and especially enjoyed the simple circuit classes on a Tuesday and Thursday. Ken says: “I was so impressed with Margaret. She was making a huge effort and she was so happy with her progress. I thought to myself,

maybe I could try it too. I consulted with my post surgery physiotherapists and they said that exercise would be beneficial to my recovery. So I too signed up and accompanied Margaret to the gym three times a week. “Our life is much richer now. There is always time for a natter and giggle and there is a great atmosphere in the classes. We both really enjoy the social side of coming to the gym and have met so many nice people.” Josh Matthews says: “I was honoured to nominate Ken and Margaret for their Award and I was delighted that their achievements have been recognised. They are a fantastic couple that have made meaningful changes to improve their health and lifestyle.” Ken and Margaret represented Trafford at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards.

Trafford Sports Awards 2018 I joined Trafford Leisure in 2003, to help me lose a bit of weight and get fitter. Over the last 15 years I have attended most of the leisure centres participating in a variety of classes including spinning, pump, yoga, abs and pilates. During this time I have made life-long friends. My main centre is Stretford Sports Village where I go on a daily basis. I find all the staff are brilliant, helpful, friendly and very supportive at all levels. The classes I attend are taught by the best instructors making each one unique, fun, challenging and motivational in their own way, helping me gain the best results possible.
On the 14th September, Trafford Partnership was delighted to host the annual Trafford Sports Awards at Hotel Football.

His condition deteriorated quickly and he soon became dependent firstly on a stick and secondly to a wheelchair, as well as strong morphine pain relief. A subsequent MRI scan showed significant damage in his neck affecting his spinal cord.

During this time, Margaret herself had become worried about her weight and her lack of exercise. She turned to her local GP who referred her to the Physical Activity Referral. She says: “The referral process was so easy. Josh made contact with me and told me all about the leisure centre. I was impressed. I told him, once my husband was a bit better, that I would be in touch to commence my eight week referral programme.” Margaret began her eight week referral programme, and especially enjoyed the simple circuit classes on a Tuesday and Thursday. Ken says: “I was so impressed with Margaret. She was making a huge effort and she was so happy with her progress. I thought to myself,

maybe I could try it too. I consulted with my post surgery physiotherapists and they said that exercise would be beneficial to my recovery. So I too signed up and accompanied Margaret to the gym three times a week. “Our life is much richer now. There is always time for a natter and giggle and there is a great atmosphere in the classes. We both really enjoy the social side of coming to the gym and have met so many nice people.” Josh Matthews says: “I was honoured to nominate Ken and Margaret for their Award and I was delighted that their achievements have been recognised. They are a fantastic couple that have made meaningful changes to improve their health and lifestyle.” Ken and Margaret represented Trafford at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards.

Leisure Centre for employee of the month. Louise faced a difficult start to the month but overcame this and has shown a great positive attitude. During July Louise intervened and dealt with a difficult customer who allowed his 7 year old child in the pool without an adult. Well done Louise and thank you to everyone for your hard work. Marsland House, but as we continue to find both ways of driving efficiencies to make cost savings or investing to grow income, the move to the golf course is too big an opportunity to miss. We don’t have an official move date yet, Kevin Henderson is on the case but it will be within the next 3 months. Moving out of Marsland provides cost savings; but we have also been looking at where we need to invest further to drive increased profits over the next few years. Not in any particular order....

As some of you will know Sally Darke in the finance team will be taking maternity leave next year and David will help support Sally’s maternity leave but also support the sites with management information that will help our teams.

Macmillan Cake Sale
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event. People all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan . We had coffee mornings running at Sale Leisure Centre, George H Carnall and Urmston Leisure Centre. Sale Leisure Centre managed to raise £153.07 for a fantastic cause and George H Carnall raised £700. Well done and thank you to everyone who helped out.
