All other arrangements must be agreed to with the owner prior to the sale. Cattle will not be transferred until paid for in full. BREEDING GUARANTEE

All cattle in this sale are guaranteed in accordance with the rules and regulations of the RAAA. Any female which is stated to be pregnancy checked safe in calf is guaranteed to be pregnant at the time of this sale. All females safe in calf are thereby considered breeders with no further guarantee. Please listen carefully to special guarantees from the auction block during the sale.

TRANSPORTATION

Buyers are responsible for the transportation of their purchases. We will have truckers lined up to haul for you if you would like. Charges will be set by the trucking company. We will do all that we can, within reason, to assist with trucking.

EPDâ€™S

Due to the fact that EPDs are updated twice a year by the RAAA (the newness of this technology; and in some cases the low accuracy of the statistics) the sellers cannot be responsible if the cattle do not perfom as indicated by those numbers. Also, we cannot guarantee the EPDs will be the same as indicated in this catalog.

We are starting this sale off with a female that we have all fallen in love with over the last few years. We purchased her as a 9-year old cow knowing that she was going straight into our donor pen. She is a deep soggy made brood cow that has the structural correctness we all desire to have in our herd. Miss Pan doesn’t overwhelm you from a thickness standpoint. She does turn your head every time she walks by in the pasture. Her pedigree has solid bloodlines backing her on the top and bottom side. Don’t let her EPD’s shy you away. I was once told by Bruce Westhuis of Meado-West Farms that “If you can’t go out to the pasture and like what you see then you are doing something wrong.”

Emily has always been that one cow that always produces outstanding calves no matter if they are natural or embryo transplants. She has a huge dark hoof on her and matches that with a lot of bone. She is long, feminine and stout. When people see her on the farm they can’t believe how youthful she looks and how functional she is. I think that the pregnancies out of this female have the chance to be big time. They are out of two outstanding AI sires in the Red Angus breed that have proven themselves time after time. Adara is one of our younger donors that we were just starting to flush. She appealed to us because of her long spine and hip that seems to be harder to come by anymore. As a calf, she was extremely deep ribbed and she continues to pass that on to her offspring. Her dam was a great Doc Holliday daughter that had the disposition of a house cat. The Yardmaster females have been doing a consistent job of producing high growth calves that have plenty of muscle to go around. Adara was flushed earlier this year to Six Mile Warcraft and these calves are going to hit it out of the park. Don’t be surprised if you see some of these calves in the show ring next fall. She sells open and ready to flush.

Lot 16a & 16b are a prime example of how our goal of working with juniors to help them become breeders can work. Jacob and his Grandpa Jim and Grandma Kathy purchased Bliss as a heifer calf in 2014. She was shown successfully across the country and received the title of Grand Champion Futurity heifer at the 2014 NAJRAE. After Bliss calved she was flushed. The Tapley family split the embryos with us and these will be the first ET calves to hit the ground out of her. Bliss has always been one of the most eye appealing Cowboy Cut females we have ever produced. Topping it off, she is a beautiful dark cherry red that always appeals to the eye. We have so much faith in the Limit Up bull that we used him to flush to this year and I am sure he will not disappoint. Young Gun has already proven himself and what better way to really show his true potential than on this picture perfect female.

We have already had Eve out at the Iowa State Fair and she was drawing attention from the stalls. You have to love the the large amount of growth not only on paper, but in person as well that lot 22 possesses. Soon there is going to be a need for some cattle that have a little more frame. Adina was selected out of a large pen of sale heifers eatting at the feed bunk at the 5L Ranch. The Adina female stood out because of her long neck extension, extremely deep swoop to her center and the way she carried herself around the pen. I asked Larry what she was and upon finding out she was a black red carrier we had to have her. Dan liked to take chances not knowing how it would pan out but in the end we have happy with the outcome. of this female Cassie brought home. Nighthawk was originally purchased to use as a calving ease sire and he worked great. He always throws low birth weight dark cherry red calves. After he out grew our heifers we started using him more on our cows and he never missed a beat. He does not produce AI quality semen anymore but he can still get them bred. Don’t keep him still for too long because he can get fat on wind, water and weeds.
