GE VERNOVA AND SAUDI ELECTRICITY COMPANY COMPLETE FIRST SAUDI-LED GAS TURBINE MAINTENANCE PROJECT GE Vernova, Inc. (NYSE: GEV) and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) have announced the successful completion of the first gas turbine outage entirely planned and executed by GE Vernova’s Saudi engineers and specialists. This project at SEC’s 8th power plant in Riyadh highlights both companies’ commitment to fostering local talent and promoting localization within Saudi Arabia’s energy sector, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. This achievement comes just months after GE Vernova, in the presence of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy, celebrated the successful rollout of the first H-class gas turbine unit completed at the GE Saudi Advanced Turbines (GESAT) facility in Dammam. The 8th power plant in Riyadh is a strategic facility that plays a crucial role in addressing the growing electricity demands of the capital. With a production capacity exceeding 1,700 megawatts, it significantly enhances the stability of the electrical grid in Riyadh and its surrounding areas. The plant comprises several blocks, one of which is equipped with four of GE Vernova’s 7F gas turbines, collectively capable of producing close to 500 megawatts.

INDUSTRY SECTOR - SMART BUILDINGS
n the evolving landscape of Saudi Arabia’s construction sector, few
concepts hold as much promise or urgency as smart buildings. As the Kingdom pushes forward with its Vision 2030 ambitions, the integration of advanced building technologies is emerging as a defining factor in how efficiently, sustainably, and intelligently buildings are designed, constructed, and operated. At its core, a smart building is more than just bricks and mortar; it’s a living, responsive environment powered by data. Equipped with sensors, automation systems, and real-time monitoring tools, these buildings manage functions such as lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and security without human intervention. The result is a seamless experience for occupants, coupled with significant operational efficiencies for owners and developers. Smart buildings, according to experts at Autodesk and Cisco, are essentially environments that can “connect, analyze, and optimize their performance” in real-time,improving comfort, lowering costs, and reducing environmental impact. hile companies increasingly champion gender diversity, many rely on PR-
driven initiatives and one-off events, such as International Women’s Day, to showcase their commitment. However, these symbolic efforts fail to address the real challenges women face in advancing their careers. Awareness campaigns and celebratory panels may spark important conversations, but they do not provide the training, mentorship, and strategic career development necessary to prepare women for leadership roles. True impact requires a long-term, structured approach that equips women with the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed. The business case for training has never been stronger. Research consistently shows that organizations with robust learning and development programs experience higher engagement, increased retention, and stronger financial performance. Companies that invest in employee training see greater profitability than those that do not, while 50% of employees consider leaving their jobs due to a lack of professional development opportunities. Despite these statistics, many companies treat training as an afterthought, implementing it only in response to high turnover or shifting business demands. Leading organizations, however, recognize training as a proactive investment—one that ensures their workforce, particularly women, is continually developing the capabilities needed to lead, innovate, and drive long-term business success. LEADERSHIP ISN’T JUST ABOUT HIRING MORE WOMEN. IT’S ABOUT PREPARING THEM TO LEAD. Through our work at WILD Talent, we have identified a consistent trend. Women enter the workforce with strong academic credentials but often lack confidence in leadership, decisionmaking, executive presence, public speaking, and stakeholder influence. Without targeted training to address these challenges, many struggle to progress into senior roles, reinforcing the barriers that prevent true gender parity. Ideal Standard, part of the Villeroy & Boch Group’s Bathroom and Wellness Division, is setting a new benchmark in sustainable bathroom solutions with the launch of Ceralife O and C. Designed by renowned designer Roberto Palomba, these two dynamic tap collections merge contemporary aesthetics with cutting-edge sustainability features, offering a perfect balance of style, performance, and eco-efficiency. Both collections exhibit a distinct design language: Ceralife C boasts crisp, geometric lines with rounded edges, creating a bold, modern aesthetic, while Ceralife O features soft, organic curves that evoke a sense of fluidity and harmony. Available in both classic chrome and silk black, these taps seamlessly integrate with Ideal Standard’s Ceratherm shower systems, delivering a cohesive and refined bathroom experience.
EcoFlow regulators ensure water conservation without compromising performance consumption while maintaining structural integrity. By recycling 100% of brass waste in-house and consuming 15% less energy during production, Ideal Standard is actively reducing its carbon footprint.
50
Sustainability at the Core Ideal Standard has placed sustainability at the forefront of the Ceralife range, ensuring these taps not only enhance water efficiency but also minimize environmental impact from production to daily use. Crafted from Diamatec brass—a durable, stress-resistant alloy—Ceralife taps reduce raw material
Additionally, key features such as EcoFlow regulators, which maintain a water flow rate of just 3.8 l/min, and BlueStart technology, which limits unnecessary hot water usage, contribute to water and energy conservation. The FirmaFlow® ceramic disc cartridge guarantees longevity, having been tested for over 500,000 cycles— equivalent to more than a decade of smooth operation for a typical household.
Seamless Functionality and Design Beyond sustainability, Ceralife taps are engineered for ease of use and durability. SmartShine finishes ensure lasting brilliance on chrome surfaces, while EasyFix technology simplifies installation. The user-friendly click waste system further enhances convenience, making these collections a practical choice for modern households and commercial spaces alike. Renowned designer Roberto Palomba explains, “With Ceralife O and C, we aimed to create designs that feel natural and effortless, harmonizing with the way people interact with water daily. These collections bring a sense of balance and simplicity while upholding the highest standards of functionality and sustainability.” Frederick Trzcinski, Vice President Commercial Ideal Standard MENA, adds, "Ceralife O and C further strengthen the distinctive design language we’ve cultivated with Roberto Palomba over the years. These collections exemplify modern aesthetics and sustainable innovation, reflecting our unwavering commitment to design, performance, and environmental responsibility." Ceralife O taps are already available, while Ceralife C will officially launch in April 2025, with select models arriving in autumn. OSHN Group, Saudi Arabia's premier multi-asset class real estate developer
and a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, has announced the launch of sales for ALMANAR, its inaugural fully integrated community in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. This landmark development introduces a transformative residential experience within the sacred city, seamlessly blending modern living with the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the region. Situated adjacent to Makkah Gate, ALMANAR boasts a prime location just 20 minutes from Al-Masjid Al-Haram, the holiest site in Islam. This proximity offers residents effortless access to the Grand Mosque, catering to both spiritual and daily needs. Additionally, the community is less than an hour's drive from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, enhancing its appeal to both local and international homeowners. The initial sales phase of ALMANAR features 727 single-family homes, encompassing a variety of designs to accommodate diverse family sizes and preferences. Options range from 3- to 4-bedroom townhouses and duplexes to expansive 4- to 5-bedroom villas, including ROSHN Group’s largest C10 villa typology. Each residence is thoughtfully designed with stylish kitchens, coordinated color palettes, and convenient shaded parking spaces, ensuring both comfort and functionality. Central to ALMANAR's design philosophy is the integration of lush green spaces and facilities that promote a healthy, active lifestyle. Over 18% of the community's footprint is dedicated to green and open public areas, featuring dedicated paths for walking and cycling. This commitment to greenery not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also fosters community engagement and well-being. ALMANAR is designed to be a self-sustaining community, offering a wide array of amenities within walking distance of every home. Residents will have access to retail and commercial centers, schools catering to all educational levels, local mosques, and Jumaa mosques.

This pedestrian-friendly layout ensures that daily necessities and services are readily accessible, enhancing the overall quality of life. This fusion of the old and new captures the essence and heritage of the region, offering residents a living space that resonates with cultural significance while providing contemporary comforts. Sustainability is at the forefront of ALMANAR's development. Homes are equipped with industry-leading energy-conserving technologies, including modern insulation and efficient air-conditioning systems. These features contribute to significant energy and water conservation, aligning with global standards and ROSHN Group's dedication to environmental responsibility. ROSHN Group's introduction of ALMANAR aligns seamlessly with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives, aiming to enhance urban living standards and increase homeownership among citizens. Adrian Hayes
eteran British adventurer and long-term Middle East resident
Adrian Hayes is embarking on his second attempt to summit the world’s third-highest mountain, Mount Kanchenjunga (8,586m) in April and May 2025. Situated in the Himalayas on Nepal’s eastern border with Sikkim, India, the mountain is a formidable challenge even for seasoned climbers. Hayes, a Nepalese speaking former British Army Gurkha officer is no stranger to high altitude mountains or Nepal, having been working in the country in his Army career since the late 1980s and climbing there since 1998. Amongst a CV full of adventuring accomplishments, he has summitted Everest and K2, trekked all the way expeditions to the North and South Pole, skied the length of Greenland, and crossed the Arabian Desert by camel, achieving two Guinness World Records, writing two books and featuring or presenting three documentaries to date. “Kanchenjunga is little known but is a formidable challenge” says Hayes. “It is huge, steep and technical and has the longest Base Camp to summit elevation of any mountain on Earth” he adds. His attempt in 2024 ended prematurely due to what he states were a combination of poor conditions, insufficient resources, and some errors in judgement. If successful he will become one of the few people in the World to climb the three highest mountains on Earth. But it is the ’why’ that enlightens Hayes, a professional leadership, team & executive
