A Passage Through Time
x
With pleasure we welcome you to the Lafayette Hotel, one of America’s last riverboat era hotels. From your first step through our doors, you’ll sense a passage of time to another era...a time when graciousness and romance flourished. For some, our elegant surroundings create the perfect ambiance for that important business or social function, for others, the ideal getaway or vacation destination. Impeccable service reminds you that you are our special guest. Revel in our treasured past, a Victorian history carefully preserved in the living legend that the Lafayette is today. Originally built in 1892 and named the Bellvue, it was destroyed by fire in April of 1916. Our grand hotel reopened on July 1st of 1918 as the Lafayette, drawing its new name from the 1825 historic visit to Marietta of the Marquis de Lafayette, a French nobleman and a hero of the American Revolution. We invite you to relax, knowing that our professional staff will strive to fulfill your every request. Enjoy your stay in Marietta; if we can assist you in any way to make your visit more comfortable or enjoyable, please call on us. Sincerely, The Staff and Management
