Dogs Designated swim areas are located at Goodman Park, Gyro Park, Legion Beach, and Lion’s Park. Dogs are allowed on the grass at most parks. No dogs are allowed at Cottonwood Beach at any time. Dogs must be on a leash and under control. Please pick up after your pets. Washrooms Park washrooms are open daily 7:00am-10:00pm. Park washrooms will switch to winter hours October 16th. Wahsrooms at Gyro Park, Desert Sunrise Marina, Legion Park, Goodman Park and Pioneer Walkway will remain open daily 7:00am-7:00pm. Preschool Programs Accessibility The Town of Osoyoos is committed to providing accessible options to residents and visitors. Initiatives such as the Mobi Mat and our Mobi Chair allow people to experience the lake in a new way. The accessible swings at Kinsman and Lion’s Park gives kids a chance to play alongside their friends, while our trail rider gives users the opportunity to experience the hills and trails surrounding Osoyoos.
Mobi Mats are available at Gyro Park and Legion Beach to increase accessibility to our lake. Accessible play equipment is a part of our playgrounds at Kinsmen Park and Lion’s Park!
The Osoyoos Accessibility Trailer houses the Mobi Chair and is available to users throughout the summer. The stair lift at the Sun Bowl Arena provides access to the Mezzanine and upper seating area- a perfect viewing spot to watch the many events at the arena!

Registration Information Registration Information Registration is required in advance for all programs except those listed as drop-in. Payment must be received in order for a customer to be considered registered. Spots will not be held. We encourage early registration as all classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. How can I register? • In person at the Sonora Community Centre. Payment is required at the time of registration. The Sonora Community Centre is pleased to accept cash, cheque, Interac or credit card payment (additional fees applied). • Online 1. Go to www.osoyoos.ca. 2. Click on “Recreation Program Registration” under Popular Links at the bottom of the page. 3. Pay for your program at the Sonora Community Centre, by etransfer or by credit card (additional fees applied). Please phone 250.495.6562 for etransfer instructions. Payment is required at the time of registration. • Registration will NOT be taken over the phone. What if the program is full? If a program is full, we will happily place you on a waitlist for the class. There is no charge to be placed on a waitlist, and we will call you if a space becomes available. What happens if my program gets cancelled? Should a program be cancelled, a credit for the program cost will be placed on your account. Credits can be used for future program registration, facility bookings or membership purchases. What happens if I no longer want to attend a program? You may withdraw from a registered program at any time. A credit for the full program fee will be given for withdrawals that occur prior to the start of the program. A prorated credit will be given for withdrawals that occur after the program has started. Credits will NOT be given for participants who do not show up for classes without notice. Do I need to attend programs with my child/children? The program description will let you know if you need to attend a program with your child or not. All preschool programs require parents to attend with their child. Parents should be prepared to participate with their child if needed. Can my child hang out at the Sonora Community Centre while waiting for a program to start or for parent pick up? Children under the age of 7 must be under the supervision of a parent/ guardian when they are not under the supervision of their program instructor. Financial Assistance Financial Assistance Low Income Subsidy Program (LISP) The Town of Osoyoos offers a Low Income Subsidy Program for individuals and families to participate in programs and services offered by the Community Services Department. Applicants must live in Osoyoos or RDOS Area A and provide one of the following: • Previous years Notice of Assessment to prove low income status • Proof of receiving disability benefits • Endorsement letter from an organization such as the school district, Desert Sun Counselling and Resource Centre or the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club. 11-15 years The Canadian Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course is a basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11–15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Students will learn: • How to be responsible and demonstrate leadership; • How to make good decisions and manage difficult behaviours; • Information on children’s developmental stages, and specific strategies for each stage; • How to feed, diaper, dress, and play with children and babies; • How to recognize and prevent unsafe situations, make safe choices and promote safe behaviours; • First aid skills; and • The business of babysitting. Osoyoos Skate Library Want to hit the ice, but you don’t have any skates? We’ve got you covered! The Osoyoos Skate Library is located in the lobby of the Sun Bowl Arena and has skates you can use absolutely free! The library has skates for children to adults - all we ask is that you put them back once you’re done. Helmets are not available. Have skates sitting around? The skate library is always accepting donations of used skates. Skates can be dropped off at the Sun Bowl Arena during regular operating hours. DROP-IN SPORTS
The Sonora Community Centre offers a variety of drop-in sports for youth and adults. Drop-in schedules are available at the Sonora Community Centre front desk or online at www.osoyoos.ca .
GENERAL FACILITY RULES AND GUIDELINES
(Full list available at the Sonora Community Centre) • Weight Room is open for persons ages 16 years and older. Youth ages 13–15 years may be permitted under the direct supervision of an adult 19 years or older. Alternatively, youth 12-15 of age may be permitted without adult supervision once they have successfully completed a Youth Weight Room Orientation. Please contact the Sonora Community Centre for more information. • Children ages 7-13 of age may be permitted into the gymnasium during applicable drop-in times under the direct supervision of a responsible person over 16 years of age. • All users, including pass holders, must check in with the front desk before entering the weight room, fitness classes, or drop-in sports.

Adult Programs
DROP-IN SPORTS & FITNESS CLASSES Drop-in Sports Grab a friend or two and drop-in to our sports times! We have times available for Basketball (youth and adult), Soccer, Pickleball throughout the week. Pick up your drop-in schedule at the Sonora Community Centre or find it online at www.osoyoos.ca. Drop-in Fitness Classes We have a variety of drop-in fitness classes to suit everyone’s needs! Mobility & Core - a strength class focusing on core muscles and promoting joint mobility. HIIT Boot Camp - a high energy class combining weights and cardio intervals. WalkFit - a full hour of walking, talking and stretching. This is a fun class encouraging movement. Groove It! - a multi-level dance fitness class that can accommodate all levels and abilities. Total Body Fit - a high intensity total body conditioning class, incorporating core, strength and cardio. Stay Strong - a low impact cardio class that includes light weights, flexibility and balance. Circuit Training - a high-energy combining strength, cardio, and functional exercises. 16 years+ This program is designed for beginners and anyone looking to build confidence in their artistic skills. Participants will explore fundamental drawing techniques, including line, shape, proportion, shading, and perspective, through fun and approachable exercises. Each session provides guided instruction along with plenty of time to practice and experiment in a relaxed, supportive environment. No previous drawing experience is required—just bring your creativity and a willingness to learn. By the end of the program, participants will have developed practical skills and greater confidence in their ability to draw. Landscape Painting
16 years+ This adult landscape painting program is designed for beginners and experienced artists who want to explore the beauty of the natural world through paint. Each session combines guided instruction with handson practice in a relaxed and supportive environment. Students will explore a variety of landscapes and learn how to capture atmosphere, mood, and natural details on canvas. Portrait Sculpting
16 years+ This is a 5 day sculpting bootcamp introduces participants to the fundamentals of creating a realistic human portrait in clay. Students will learn how to observe facial proportions, structure, features, and expression while developing their sculpting techniques. Through step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on practice, participants will build confidence in shaping and refining their own portrait sculpture. The class provides a relaxed and supportive environment for both beginners and those with previous sculpting experience. No prior experience is required—just bring your creativity and curiosity to explore the art of portraiture. Students will be taking 1 hour for lunch. OSOYOOS MIXED INDOOR VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE Join our co-ed indoor volleyball league! Teams will consist of a minimum of 4 players and must have at least 1 female on the court at all times. This year we are expanding to have a competitive league and a recreation league! Mondays 6:30pm-8:30pm | Competitive League Play Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm | Recreation League Play Sonora Community Centre Gymnasium $200.00/team (covers September 2026-March 2027) Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis until the league is full or by Wednesday September 9th. Returning teams will be given advance registration.

During this 4-week program, you will learn the basics of lifting weights so when you go to the gym by yourself, you have a renewed confidence and knowledge to back it up. Join other like-minded women looking for a non-competitive, friendly fitness experience focused on developing strength and general fitness in a supportive, small group setting. Work towards your personal goals and share your successes.
