Message from the General Manager of Parks, Recreation and Culture As we welcome the fall and winter seasons, I’m excited to reflect on another year of growth, connection, and community in East Gwillimbury (EG). Parks, Recreation and Culture continues to create spaces, programs, and experiences that bring our community together, support healthy lifestyles, and foster a strong sense of belonging. This fall marks the one-year anniversary of the opening of the Health and Active Living Plaza (HALP). This facility has quickly become a vibrant hub for recreation, wellness, and community connections in EG. We have also opened the new HALP Park, providing even more opportunities for residents of all ages to play, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. Our team is extremely proud of the facility and surrounding eight-acre park, which features various active recreation amenities, including multi-use courts, junior and senior playgrounds, outdoor kitchen, reading garden, seating, open play space and more. As our community evolves, so do the needs and interests of our residents. Your

feedback plays an essential role in shaping the future of recreation in EG. Whether you’re completing our program survey, sharing ideas with staff, or participating in our programs and events, your input helps us plan, enhance, and improve the services and experiences we offer. This fall, based on your feedback, we’re proud to introduce exciting enhancements to one of our signature events, Celebrating the Arts, taking place on September 26. For the first time, the celebration will take place in two locations: the HALP (160 Jim Mortson Drive) and the Sharon Museum and Gardens (18974 Leslie Street). The community is invited to enjoy opportunities to experience local arts, culture, heritage, live entertainment, interactive activities, and community connections close to home. As you explore the Health and Active Living Guide, I encourage you to discover something new, reconnect with a favourite activity, and take advantage of the many programs, events, parks, and facilities available throughout the season. Thank you for being part of EG’s active, engaged, and growing community. We look forward to seeing you this fall and winter.

Sincerely,

Aaron Karmazyn General Manager of Parks, Recreation and Culture
