BOWLING GREEN 35TH HARVEST FESTIVAL 2025
The Town of Bowling Green is excited to announce the 35th Annual Harvest Festival, kicking off with Music on the Green featuring Scuffltown on Friday, October 17, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and returning on Saturday, October 18, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM! This year’s festival will feature live music, food vendors, shopping along Main Street, children’s activities, and entertainment for all ages. As the Town of Bowling Green’s largest annual event, the Harvest Festival brings together thousands of residents and visitors to celebrate community spirit and small-town charm. Mark your calendars for a day full of family fun and local tradition!
TOWN PARTNERSHIP WITH SERCAP FOR GIS MAP UNDERWAY The Town of Bowling Green is partnering with the nonprofit SERCAP (Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project) to establish our first Geographic Information System (GIS) for water and wastewater utilities. This system will enable staff, contractors, and engineers to manage infrastructure more effectively, improve service delivery, and respond more quickly to issues such as water leaks or service disruptions. Ordinarily costing between $30,000 and $70,000, this service is being provided to Bowling Green at no cost thanks to SERCAP’s support.

TOWN CODE UPDATE The Town of Bowling Green has completed the initial phase of its Town Code update, led by the Town Manager, India AdamsJacobs, and Town Attorney, Jeff Gore. This phase included renumbering, reorganizing, and finalizing the online code through CivicPlus, the Town’s new digital platform. The Town Code can be
accessed by scanning the QR code above!
The Town Council has approved the organization and adoption of the newly renumbered Town Code, making it easier for residents, businesses, and the public to access. This critical step improves transparency, ensures ordinances are userfriendly, and provides a modern, searchable online system for the community.
The Town of Bowling Green continues to advance its USDA Waterline Project to modernize the Town’s aging water system and ensure long-term reliability. In 2018, the Town secured federal funding to replace failing manual-read meters with radio-read meters (completed in 2021), assess the condition of water mains, and meet new state-mandated well intake requirements. The current phase of the project focuses on replacing waterlines, outdated water mains, modifying well intakes, and developing a digital as-built map for improved asset management. The total project budget was $7.5 million, with $5.5 million in grant and loan funding still available. While COVID-19-related cost increases have reduced the original scope, the upgrades remain essential for addressing health, safety, and regulatory concerns, improving fire protection, reducing water loss, and supporting community growth. 1

FALL CLEAN SWEEP 2025 At the most recent Town Council meeting, the Council unanimously approved recommendations for appointments to the Bowling Green Board of Zoning Appeals and Economic Development Authority. The following individuals were appointed and will serve staggered terms: Jean Young – 5-Year Term (through August 2030) Taylor Subacius – 4-Year Term (through August 2029) Tyler Gibson – 3-Year Term (through August 2028)
