NEW FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Bowling Green is implementing a new financial management system this summer to improve efficiency, reliability, and service delivery. BENEFITS FOR RESIDENTS Improved Payment Options: More ways to pay taxes and utility bills Streamlined Processes: Faster permit and business license approvals The system is planned to go live on July 1. During the transition week (June 24-30), the Finance Department will have limited-service hours. Please plan accordingly.

WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT GRANT The Town of Bowling Green has submitted an $8.2 million dollar grant application to the Virginia Department of Health to fund treatment for gross alpha contamination and improvements to the water system. PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS Construction of new wells Installation of treatment facilities with advanced filtration technology Improved water quality monitoring and testing systems
SERVE BGVA The Town is accepting applications for three vacancies on the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA). If you are passionate about land-use in the Town, complete an application by the June 1st deadline! More information, including the application, can be found on the Town’s website.
The Town’s Virginia Main Street Affiliate, Bowling Green Economic Partnership (BGEP), has applied for the Virigina Housing and Community Development Community Vitality Grant, which could provide up to $15,000 in funding for community enhancement projects, including a new mural, gift card shopping program and beautification banners.
