INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE: ADDRESSING OUR AGING SYSTEMS Many of our town's critical infrastructure systems are past or approaching the end of their service lives. Most of our sewer lines and water mains were installed in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s and require significant upgrades. Within the last two months, there have been significant sewer failures along Main Street and Courthouse Lane, that will require immediate repairs. The Town Council and Town Manager have approved these upcoming capital construction projects to immediately address these issues.
FY26 ANNUAL BUDGET PROCESS UNDERWAY
UPCOMING CAPITAL PROJECTS- SPRING 2025
The fiscal year 2026 budget process is nearing completion. The dates below offer opportunity to learn more about the proposed FY26 budget at the following dates:
Courthouse Lane Sewer Line Replacement: Construction began Monday, May 5, and will last approximately a week for the replacement of this line.
May 22: FY26 Budget Public hearing June 5: Budget Adoption and appropriation Residents may review the proposed budget at the Town’s website or review a printed copy at Town Hall.
Main Street Sewer Replacement: Construction tentatively begins in May and will last for approximately a month and a half, weather permitting. For more info, visit the Town Projects page at townofbowlinggreenva.gov/projects
